Various diseases may occur in people's lives. Some are familiar to us and are not very serious. Some are not encountered often, so they are relatively unfamiliar to us. However, we need to master some common sense so that we can take emergency measures if minor problems occur. We have all heard of hernia, which is usually more common in newborn girls. It is what people usually call a bulging belly button and unbearable stomach pain. Umbilical hernia is an extra-abdominal hernia in which the contents of the abdominal cavity protrude through a weak area at the umbilicus. The umbilicus is located in the middle of the abdominal wall and is the last part of the abdominal wall to close during embryonic development. The lack of fat tissue in the umbilicus causes the outermost skin, fascia and peritoneum of the abdominal wall to be directly connected together, making it the weakest part of the entire abdominal wall. The contents of the abdominal cavity can easily protrude from this part to form an umbilical hernia. Most umbilical hernias heal spontaneously within one year of age through gradual contraction of the umbilical fascial ring. Therefore, before the age of 2, unless the baby is incarcerated, observation and waiting can be done. Use non-surgical treatment to promote spontaneous healing. If the child is over 2 years old and the diameter of the umbilical hernia exceeds 1.5 cm, surgical treatment is recommended. A semicircular incision was made along the navel 1 cm away from the umbilicus, and the skin and subcutaneous tissue were cut to expose the anterior rectus sheath, hernia ring and hernia sac. The linea alba was cut in the middle, the hernia sac was freed, and the hernia contents were returned. After part of the hernia sac was removed at the hernia ring, it was sutured, and then the edges of the rectus sheath on both sides (i.e., the abdominal linea) were intermittently sutured, and finally the skin was sutured. Smaller umbilical hernias, such as those with a diameter less than 1.5 cm, can usually heal themselves within 2 years of age as the abdominal wall strengthens with development. Since umbilical hernia in infants rarely becomes incarcerated, non-surgical treatment can be given first, using adhesive tape therapy. That is, a wide strip of adhesive tape is used to pull the two sides of the abdominal wall toward the midline of the abdomen to prevent the hernia from protruding and to put the navel in a tension-free state, allowing the umbilical opening to gradually heal and close. Change the tape once a week. If you have tape dermatitis, you can use a belly bandage to apply appropriate pressure. The above are some methods on how to treat hernia. It is not difficult to see that there are many patients with more. This requires parents to take good care of their children and prevent the occurrence of this disease. But don't be nervous if it happens. If you give your child timely treatment, there won't be any major problems. There are many treatments for this disease, and treatment must be tailored to the patient's specific circumstances. |
