The benefits of tapping your lungs every day

The roles played by the heart and lungs in the human body cannot be ignored, so in daily life we must protect our heart and lungs. There is also a certain connection between the heart and the lungs. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is believed that regularly tapping the heart and lungs every day can have certain benefits on cardiopulmonary function. Therefore, many people will try to tap their heart and lungs regularly every day. In today’s article, let’s learn about the benefits of tapping your heart and lungs every day.

How to improve cardiopulmonary function

Rub your palms to warm them up

About 20 minutes after breakfast every morning, rub your hands while walking. There is an acupoint in the palm of your hand which is the main acupoint on the heart meridian. Rubbing your hands can help stimulate the heart meridian and improve blood circulation. After rubbing your hands warm, cover your eyes while your palms are warm, and then rub your forearms, crossing your hands and rubbing them.

Exhale correctly

Everyone breathes, but not everyone knows how to breathe properly. A British study shows that more than 90% of adults do not consciously regulate their breathing, while correct breathing is very beneficial to cardiopulmonary function.

First of all, inhale evenly and slowly, rhythmically through the nose, and try to fill the alveoli with gas. Then, exhale slowly and forcefully, trying to clear out the waste in the body and ensure more gas exchange. Between inhalation and exhalation, you can hold your breath for about 5 seconds. While breathing, you can imagine yourself in some tranquil scenes, which is conducive to peace of mind and body.

It should be noted that deep breathing practice should be moderate, and it is enough to practice for about 15-20 minutes a day. If most people take excessive deep breaths while at rest, it is not good for their health.

Pat your chest

Sit well on the chair, keep your upper body upright, naturally separate your knees, place your hands lightly on your thighs, relax your body, close your eyes slightly, try to eliminate distracting thoughts in your brain, inhale deeply and slowly, raise your hands at the same time, and use your palms to pat your chest from top to bottom on both sides. When exhaling, use your palms to pat your chest from bottom to top on both sides. Each time, patting should last about 10 minutes.

Gently patting your chest about half an hour before going to bed every night can protect your heart and nourish your lungs. However, be careful not to pat too hard, just pat lightly.

Increase oxygen exercise

Aerobic exercise can exercise cardiopulmonary function and effectively prevent the occurrence of heart disease and other diseases. Exercise should be based on the principles of regularity, continuity and rhythm. There are roughly these things to note: First, exercise requires a certain amount, such as swimming, climbing stairs, jogging, brisk walking, etc., 3-4 times a week, about 30 minutes each time, the effect can be very good, and then exercise should not be intense or continuous.

For those who do not exercise regularly, they need to proceed step by step when they first start exercising. If the amount of exercise greatly exceeds the usual load, it may cause sudden death or other sports injuries. In addition, they must do adequate warm-up exercises and warm-up.

Hydrates and nourishes the heart

Drink more boiled water. You can drink 0.2 liters in the morning and before going to bed, and 0.8 liters between meals. It is best to drink a glass of boiled water on an empty stomach after waking up in the morning every day. It can replenish water and purify body fluids. In addition, spraying water mist directly into the air through a humidifier can increase the air temperature. In terms of diet, you need to eat less fried, grilled, and pan-fried foods. When cooking, you need to use more cooking methods that keep food moist, such as steaming and boiling.

Laughter clears the air

There is a saying in traditional Chinese medicine that "laughing often can open up the lungs". Laughing can expand the lungs, which helps clear the "turbid air" in the respiratory tract. When the human body laughs, it is conducive to the inhalation of more oxygen, which increases the oxygen carrying capacity in the blood, making every corner of the body full of vitality.
