What are the instructions for pregnancy test sticks?

Nowadays, people have more and more complete contraceptive measures. In the past, people did not have condoms, so they gave birth to many children. Unlike people today, they can give birth when they want, and wear condoms or take birth control pills when they don’t want to. However, pregnancy is a matter of sooner or later, and pregnancy test sticks will become everyone’s first choice. So everyone also needs to know how to use pregnancy test sticks. So what are the precautions for using pregnancy test sticks?

The pregnancy test stick is a type of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) product. The so-called test is to use the pregnancy test stick to detect human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG for short) in urine. HCG is a troponin secreted by the placenta of pregnant women. It is distributed throughout the body with the blood, thereby acting on target organs. A certain concentration of HCG is also present in the urine.

1. Tear open the aluminum foil bag along the notch and take out the pregnancy test stick when using it;

2. Put on the disposable plastic film gloves included in the box, hold one end of the handle of the pregnancy test stick tightly with your thumb, and tilt the end with the urine suction hole downward. Note that the observation side of the pregnancy test stick should face downward, and the plum blossom pattern should face upward;

3. Aim at the urine suction hole on the side of the pregnancy test stick and urinate, allowing the urine to pass through the urine suction hole, and maintain the urine collection time for 1 to 2 seconds (please note that urine should not wet the observation window when collecting urine! Otherwise, the pregnancy test stick will become invalid);

4. Then turn the pregnancy test stick over so that the observation window is facing upwards, and continue to hold the pregnancy test stick at an angle. When you see purple-red liquid crawling across the observation window, purple-red lines will appear on the observation window within 1 minute. The pregnancy result can be read after 1 minute, and the non-pregnancy result must be confirmed after 3 minutes. The results read after 5 minutes are invalid! Urine samples collected at any time are suitable for pregnancy test kits. If you are in early pregnancy, morning urine is best.

There are many things to note when using pregnancy test sticks. First of all, you have to use the first urine in the early morning. You cannot drink water before that, otherwise it will dilute the urine and the result will be inaccurate. Also, if you have taken certain medications recently, it will also affect the test results. Therefore, there are still many details to pay attention to when using pregnancy test sticks. If you are not sure about the accuracy of the pregnancy test stick, it is most scientific to have a check-up at the hospital.
