What should I do if my little toe nail hurts

It seems that people easily ignore their toes. Who has nothing to do but look at their feet all day long? And with the obstruction of shoes, they pay even less attention to their toes. Recently, I suddenly felt a little pain in my toes, as if something in my shoes was pricking me. I lowered my head and observed carefully, only to find that it was my feet that were hurting. What should I do? Let’s talk about it now and solve the problem for everyone.

Paronychia can occur on the fingers or on the toes. Those who have it on the fingers often have the bad habit of biting their fingers, and those who have it on the toes are often caused by secondary infection of ingrown toenails. On the toes, it is mostly caused by ingrown toenails or tight shoes, and mostly occurs in the thumbs. When pus has formed, in addition to using antibacterial drugs, if pus has accumulated under the nail bed, the nail should be removed, or the nail on the abscess cavity should be cut off. When removing the nail, care should be taken to avoid damaging the nail bed to prevent deformities of the new nails in the future.

Apply or soak the toe with iodine. As long as the toe has the slightest trauma or damage, apply or soak the affected toe with iodine, 4 to 6 times a day, each time for 15 to 20 minutes, until the skin turns white. The disinfecting effect of iodine will corrode the diseased skin tissue and allow it to regrow, in order to prevent paronychia.

Chinese herbal compress is a kind of conservative treatment method. Its function is to reduce swelling, relieve pain and detoxify. It is suitable for patients with early paronychia. Most hospitals apply ichthyol ointment or Sanhuang powder to the affected area. The "Bloody-Removing Ointment" prepared by Zhang Yingchun, deputy chief physician of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Hubei Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, is very effective for toes that have just become festered. A course of treatment with the "Bloody-Removing Ointment" costs about 90 yuan. While applying the ointment, you should refrain from eating irritating foods.

In fact, nail removal cannot cure paronychia, especially paronychia caused by ingrown toenails. Because the toenails are curled on both sides and grow into the flesh, they will cut the soft tissue at the edge of the nails when walking, forming "ingrown toenails" and finally causing paronychia. Nail extraction can only remove the nail plate, but has no effect on the nail groove and nail bed. The newly grown nail plate will continue to grow into the flesh, causing ingrown nails, pain, and paronychia. There have been records of patients having their nails extracted four or five times a year.

Introduce several proven recipes of external treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. 1. Add 1 gram each of green tea leaves, black sesame seeds and fine salt to a little saline solution and mash into a paste. After routine skin disinfection, apply the medicine to the paronychia. Change the medicine once a day and use it continuously for 2 to 4 times. Do not let the affected area get wet during the application of the medicine. 2. Take equal parts of Coptis chinensis and Rhubarb, pick them clean, dry them, grind them into powder and set aside. Before use, mix it with vinegar (if used for children, the vinegar can be diluted), apply it to the affected area, and change it after cleaning every day. 3. Remove the thorns from 50 grams of fresh cactus and mash it into a paste. Add 2 grams of salt and 6 to 8 drops of safflower oil. Mix well and put in a container for later use. Prepare on the same day. During treatment, apply an appropriate amount of the above ointment to the affected area and bandage it with gauze. Change the dressing once in the morning and evening every day. 4 days constitute a course of treatment.

Don't wear shoes that are too tight, don't cut your nails too short, don't trim too harshly when trimming your pedicure, treat the disease in time when it first occurs, and soak your feet in hot water. Develop good hygiene habits, don't tear off hangnails with your hands, once there are hangnails, cut them off with scissors, and trim your toenails frequently, cutting them into an arc shape.
