What are the characteristics of gastric bleeding?

All patients with gastric ulcers are likely to suffer from gastric bleeding. After all, gastric bleeding is a complication of gastric ulcers. For patients with gastric bleeding, as long as they do not have symptoms of vomiting blood, they can still eat normally. However, if symptoms of vomiting blood occur, it is best to stop eating immediately, otherwise it is easy to get into a dangerous situation of suffocation due to vomiting blood. So, what are the characteristics of gastric bleeding?

The main cause of gastric bleeding is ulcers, which gradually deepen and damage blood vessels. However, when vomiting blood occurs, we must first determine the source of the blood, is it from the lungs or the stomach?

Lung blood is brought out through the trachea by coughing, and is vomited out in one or several mouthfuls, a very small amount. Even if there is a large amount of pulmonary bleeding, it is far less than gastric bleeding. The blood vomited out from gastric bleeding comes out through the esophagus, feeling like vomiting, with a fierce momentum, like a spring, and a large amount, sometimes vomited out together with food residues. This is the characteristic of gastric bleeding, and you can judge it yourself.

(1) After suffering from gastric ulcer, when the blood vessels are about to rupture but have not yet ruptured, if strong liquor or inferior wine is consumed, the blood vessels in the stomach will dilate and become congested, causing the blood vessels to rupture. After frequent excessive drinking, people who drink too much may sometimes bleed like a fountain from the mouth and nose. This is the reason. Sometimes, indigestible dishes and spicy foods can also cause friction and injury to the ulcer surface, which can induce bleeding in the affected area.

(2) Gastric ulcers cause erosion over a long period of time. When one is extremely angry, irritable, or suffers a severe nervous stimulation, the blood vessels will dilate and the previously ruptured blood vessels will become congested, leading to rupture. The person will feel a stuffy sensation in the chest and vomit. If the person turns around a little, a large amount of blood will be vomited out.

(3) Rough blows or collisions near the affected area, as well as strenuous exercise or running around, can cause blood vessel bleeding in the ulcer area and lead to vomiting of blood.

In such cases, emergency measures and treatments are readily available to patients.

Patients with gastric bleeding must adhere to good dietary principles and must eat some liquid food at first, such as drinking some milk or asking their family to cook some nutritious porridge. Do not eat any sweet or acidic foods, otherwise it may aggravate the condition. Don't drink coffee or tea, and eat light food. If you find it too bland to swallow, you can add a little salt.
