When is the best time to run for exercise?

There are many kinds of sports for physical exercise. Among all kinds of sports, running is the simplest way. First of all, running is an aerobic exercise, which is very beneficial for weight loss. Secondly, the requirements for running are very low and do not require mastering too advanced techniques, so it is suitable for most people. However, there are some requirements for running, such as mastering the running time every day.

The best time to run and exercise:

The best time to run every day: around 5 pm

According to the principle of human body clock regulation, the body's adaptability and physical mobilization are best in the afternoon and near dusk (approximately 4 to 6 o'clock). At this time, most people are calm and stable, physically full, and the flexibility, coordination, accuracy and adaptability of technical activities are at their best. Therefore, running during this time period is also a very good choice.

However, the reality is that these two periods happen to be the times when people are busy with work and study. Although the physical functions are in good condition, except for professional athletes, I am afraid that not many people have the conditions to exercise during these two periods.

A research report published by the Clinical Research Center of the University of Chicago on the 20th said that the human body's biological clock plays a more important role in the body's response to exercise than previously thought. The results could change people's morning exercise habits.

The research center conducted a study on 40 men aged 30 to 40 to study the body's (hormone levels) response to exercise at different times of the day. The results showed that hormones, key substances in human metabolism, responded most strongly to physical exercise in the evening and at night.

"During the night or evening, there is a dramatic rise in levels of cortisol, which is associated with fat metabolism, and thyroid-stimulating hormone, which is associated with muscle repair," said the University of Chicago researchers.

For example, researchers said that blood tests taken after an hour of intense treadmill exercise in the morning showed that hormone levels were comparable to those during the same period of time when resting in bed. After doing the same exercise between 7pm and 2am the next day, hormone levels were much higher than at other time periods. This suggests that the body's hormonal response to exercise at different times is controlled by the biological clock or physiological rhythm.

"It is too early to conclude that exercising at one time of day is better than another, but it is surprising that the hormonal response to exercise is related to time of day," the researchers said. "The biological clock appears to play an important role in the body's response to exercise."

Previously, experts generally believed that morning was the best time to exercise for weight loss, but this research result may change this view, believing that exercising in the evening is more appropriate.

Early morning, noon and evening, when is the best time to run? Of course, exercise time is subject to the constraints of work and study. But if the choice is arbitrary, is there an optimal time to exercise? Experts say: Yes. But this time depends largely on yourself.

In recent years, scientists have been exploring the relationship between the biological clock and exercise in order to find a time of day that can burn the most fat. The results showed that changes in body temperature will have the greatest impact on the quality and effectiveness of exercise. That is, when exercising, the higher your body temperature, the better the effect of the exercise.

Usually, body temperature is lowest in 1 to 3 hours before getting up, and rises to the highest in the afternoon. Therefore, it is safe to say that the best time to exercise is in the afternoon. During this time, muscles are warm, physical strength is abundant, heart rate is stable, and blood pressure is low.

But scientists also warn not to think that the rules of the biological clock can determine everything. The best time to exercise depends on whether you can do it on time. So schedule your time at a time that won't interfere with your normal work, and don't always think about your body's biological clock.
