The health of the body is related to many factors. For example, for some patients whose serum alanine aminotransferase levels are high, the high levels of transferase will cause serious harm to the body. Therefore, for many patients, in order not to affect their own health, they want to fully understand what is causing it. What is the reason for high alanine aminotransferase? First of all, alanine aminotransferase is an enzyme involved in human protein metabolism, which plays a role in accelerating the conversion of protein amino acids in the body. It is widely present in various tissues, organs, muscles, and bones of the human body. It is most abundant in the cytoplasm of liver cells, and the intracellular concentration is 1000-3000 times higher than that in serum. As long as 1% of liver cells are destroyed, serum enzymes can double. Therefore, it is recommended by the World Health Organization as the most sensitive detection indicator for liver function damage. Why is the alanine aminotransferase level high? When the tissues and organs in the human body are active or diseased, the alanine aminotransferase in them will be released into the blood, increasing the serum alanine aminotransferase level. For example, when the liver is inflamed, transaminase will be released from the liver cells into the blood. If the liver is diseased, the serum transaminase level will definitely increase. When one thousandth of the liver cells are inflamed, the serum transaminase level will more than double. Therefore, the serum transaminase level is an important indicator of the severity of liver disease. The normal reference value of alanine aminotransferase in serum is: 9-51U/L for men and 8-41U/L for women (the testing methods of each hospital are different, and the reference values are not exactly the same). If the serum value of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) exceeds the upper limit of normal by 2-3 times and lasts for more than two weeks, it indicates the possibility of hepatobiliary disease, but damage to the liver due to alcoholism, chemical poisoning, etc. must be ruled out; exposure to chemical substances and physiological conditions, such as excessive fatigue, strenuous activity, menstruation, etc. may cause a temporary increase in transaminase. The serum alanine aminotransferase test is high, which is a relatively dangerous signal. It is very harmful to the body. It is not only harmful to organs, but also to muscles and bones. Therefore, for patients with this symptom, in order to avoid serious harm to their own bodies, it is best to go to the hospital for a comprehensive examination and receive treatment as soon as possible after diagnosis. |
