What are the dangers of mild fatty liver

We all know that the health of one person involves the whole family. If there is any problem, the whole family will be anxious. However, with the rapid development of modern quality of life, people are enjoying modern quality of life while also bearing more problems. Many diseases have emerged. Some people have the problem of mild fatty liver. This problem has a great impact on our normal life. If it is not solved in time, it may bring great health threats to our mother and child. Maybe many people don’t know much about the harm of mild fatty liver. Let us learn about the harm of mild fatty liver together!

harm:

One of the hazards

Promotes the formation of atherosclerosis

Patients with fatty liver are often accompanied by hyperlipidemia and increased blood viscosity. The low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in the blood can easily pass through the arterial endothelium and deposit on the blood vessel wall due to its extremely small molecular weight, reducing the elasticity of the arteries, narrowing the diameter, and weakening the flexibility, ultimately leading to blood circulation disorders, blood vessel rupture, and endangering life.

The second hazard

Induce or aggravate hypertension and coronary heart disease

Arteriosclerosis is closely related to hypertension and coronary heart disease. Studies have shown that patients with alcoholic fatty liver combined with hypertension and coronary heart disease are prone to myocardial infarction and sudden death.

Hazard 3

Encephalopathy-fatty liver syndrome (Reye syndrome)

Its pathogenesis is still unclear, but mitochondrial damage and loss of enzyme activity are its pathological basis. The main pathological changes are diffuse cerebral edema and severe hepatic fatty degeneration, with an enlarged liver and a firm texture. It is accompanied by significant brain symptoms: convulsions, progressive loss of consciousness and even coma, with a mortality rate as high as 70-80%.

Hazard 4

Lead to cirrhosis, liver failure, liver cancer

The final result of various liver diseases is often cirrhosis, and fatty liver is no exception. The probability of cirrhosis developing into hepatocellular carcinoma is higher. Cirrhosis is divided into compensated stage and decompensated stage. Once cirrhosis develops to the decompensated stage, hepatic coma, ascites, massive gastrointestinal bleeding, liver failure, hepatorenal syndrome, etc. are very likely to occur, and the end of life is not far away.

Hazard 5

Acute fatty liver of pregnancy has a high mortality rate.

This disease, also known as obstetric acute yellow hepatic atrophy, is a rare pregnancy complication with a serious prognosis. It often occurs in the last three months of pregnancy. The clinical manifestations are often similar to those of acute severe liver disease. Acute liver failure, pancreatitis, renal failure, and systemic coagulation abnormalities may occur, leading to rapid death. Most cases occur in first-time pregnant women. Typical cases show acute onset, with nausea, vomiting, upper abdominal pain, back pain, varying degrees of hypertension, edema, and progressive jaundice. In a short period of time, coma, ascites, large ecchymosis on the skin, blood in the stool and blood in the urine may occur. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the pregnancy should be terminated immediately. This is the only effective method. If cesarean section or induced labor is performed until late-stage liver failure and coagulation dysfunction occur, postpartum hemorrhage may occur, endangering the lives of mother and baby.

Hazard 6

Induce or aggravate diabetes.

Diabetes is a chronic systemic metabolic disease of unknown etiology. It is mainly caused by insufficient insulin secretion or insulin resistance and is characterized by glucose metabolism disorders. It is characterized by hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, and hyperaminoacidemia. According to a survey, about 50% of diabetic patients have fatty liver, and about 30-40% of fatty liver patients have diabetes. The blood sugar level of patients with fatty liver is significantly higher than that of normal people. If the blood sugar concentration of obese fatty liver patients exceeds the normal level, although it does not meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes, it is generally considered to be prediabetes. Fatty liver and diabetes are a pair of brothers in distress. If both exist, it will make treatment more difficult, and one will be neglected while the other will be taken care of, which will accelerate the progression of the disease.

Hazard 7

Hepatitis B combined with fatty liver accelerates the development of liver cirrhosis

Clinical investigations have found that chronic viral hepatitis B and hepatitis C combined with fatty liver will increase the occurrence and development of liver fibrosis and shorten the development time of chronic hepatitis to post-hepatitis cirrhosis. Liver fibrosis is the inevitable pathological process of chronic liver disease developing into cirrhosis. Liver fibrosis is caused by the metabolic imbalance of collagen matrix and non-collagen matrix outside liver cells, which forms a basement membrane and causes capillarization of hepatic sinusoids. This is the molecular pathological basis of liver fibrosis. Fatty liver further reduces the function of already damaged liver cells, which will inevitably make the situation worse by accelerating the process of liver fibrosis and promoting the formation of liver cirrhosis.

The above content introduces us to the treatment methods for the hazards of mild fatty liver. I believe that everyone will gain something from it. We can share this article with all the patients and friends around us. When they encounter this problem, they can receive timely and effective treatment and recover their health as quickly as possible. I hope the above content is helpful to everyone.
