Introduction to heat stroke

I believe everyone has heard of the disease called heat stroke? What are the specific symptoms of this disease? What are the factors that cause the disease? Are there any reasonable preventive measures? How much do you know about these contents? Next, let’s discuss it together.

Symptoms and signs

The patient has high fever, no sweat, dry mouth, coma, high blood pressure, respiratory failure, body temperature above 40 degrees Celsius, dry and hot skin without sweat, mental disorder, organ failure, etc.

Heat stroke refers to the dysfunction of the human body's temperature regulation function caused by high temperature, which leads to excessive accumulation of heat in the body and causes damage to the nervous organs. In the classification of heat stroke, it is severe heat stroke. The disease usually occurs in summer when the weather is hot and humid. When encountering hot weather, if you start sweating profusely and feeling dazed, you should pay attention to cooling down. If someone falls into a coma under high temperatures, the unconscious person should be immediately lifted to a ventilated and cool place, and poured with cold water to lower the body temperature. The body temperature should then be continuously monitored. If the high fever of around 40°C persists, the person should be immediately sent to an experienced hospital for fluid resuscitation treatment. Do not underestimate it as ordinary heatstroke and delay treatment.

Pathological etiology

Because continuous stuffiness will reduce the heat dissipation function of the skin, and infrared and ultraviolet rays can penetrate the skin and reach deep into the muscles, the heat in the body cannot be dissipated. At this time, the heat accumulates in the internal organs and muscle tissue, causing dry skin, increased muscle temperature, and inability to sweat, which in turn damages the central nervous system. This then affects the functions of organs and tissues throughout the body, and patients experience local muscle spasms, high fever, no sweating, dry mouth, coma, high blood pressure, cough, asthma, difficulty breathing, and even respiratory failure. It is the most serious type of heatstroke. This severe heat stroke can occur as a result of either physical or non-physical activity in hot conditions. Without timely and proper treatment, the mortality rate can be as high as 40% to 50%.

First aid measures

1: For mild cases, quickly go to a cool and ventilated place, lie on your back and rest, unbutton your clothes, unbutton your belt, and open your shirt. You can take medicines such as Shi Di Shui and Ren Dan to prevent and treat heatstroke.

2: If the patient's body temperature continues to rise, if conditions permit, soak the lower body in a bathtub with warm water and wipe the upper body with a wet towel.

3: If the patient is unconscious or convulsing, he should be put in a coma position. While notifying the emergency center, make sure the airway is open.

Through the introduction in the above article, I believe everyone has a certain understanding of heat stroke? Its main symptoms are high fever and dry mouth. The main reason is the continuous heat and stuffiness, which is related to ultraviolet rays and infrared rays. Therefore, in our lives, we must take good care of ourselves to reduce the occurrence of this disease.
