I believe everyone must have heard of a disease, right? It's lichen sclerosus atrophicus. This disease is currently a common skin disease in our lives. Although it is not a particularly serious disease, it still has a certain impact on our lives. So how do we treat it? Let’s discuss it together. Lichen sclerosis et atrophicus is also called lichen albus, lichen planus morphoeicus, or Csillage's disease. It is a chronic atrophic skin disease of unknown cause. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is caused by imbalance of yin and yang, disharmony of qi and blood, and exogenous rheumatism. 1. Treatment There is currently no specific treatment. 1. General treatment to eliminate possible predisposing factors. Avoid local irritation and treat vaginitis and balanitis, etc. 2. For internal treatment, give large doses of vitamin E and vitamin A. For those with itching, give antihistamines. Chloroquine can be tried. Adults can take estrogen, diethylstilbestrol 1 mg/time, once a day, which is effective for vulvar damage in menopausal women. Acitretin (etretinate) can also be used, with a dose of 0.5 to 1 mg/(kg·d) for 3 to 12 months. 3. Local treatment: Topical application of vitamin A ointment or corticosteroid ointment should be used with caution on atrophied skin. You can also use 2% testosterone propionate ointment twice a day. After 6 months, change to once a day. The frequency of use can be gradually reduced. Relapse is easy after stopping the medication. Long-term side effects include clitoral hypertrophy, hypersexuality, hirsutism, furunculosis and male pattern baldness. Both diethylstilbestrol ointment and progesterone ointment have antipruritic effects. Intralesional injection of triamcinolone suspension can promote skin softening. 4. There are reports of physical therapy using carbon dioxide cryotherapy to treat lesions in the female vulva area, which can relieve most of the itching. Carbon dioxide laser treatment of lesions in the male genital area also has a certain effect and can be tried. 5. For surgical treatment of urethral stenosis, urethral dilation can be performed. For phimosis caused by occlusive balanitis sicca, circumcision can be performed. If the skin lesions become cancerous, vulvectomy should be performed. 6. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment method: Promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Prescription: Astragalus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Millettia reticulata, Dictamni 30g, Red Peony Root 15g, Peach Kernel 10g, Tribulus terrestris 15g, Bombyx batryticatus 10g, Costus root 15g. Grind all the above ingredients into fine powder, make into pills with refined honey. Each pill is 4g, take 3 pills a day. (II) Prognosis The disease progresses slowly, often lasting for many years. The damage in adults is mostly progressive, while the damage in children decreases with age. Some disappear on their own at or before menarche. Through the introduction of the above article, I believe everyone has a general understanding of lichen sclerosus and atrophic lichen? Do you also know some ways to treat it? So in life, we must pay more attention. If someone around us suffers from this disease, we must persuade them to seek treatment as soon as possible. |
