What are the hazards of water shortage

If we are in a state of dehydration for a long time, do you know what changes will happen to our human body? The largest component of the human body is water, which shows how important water is to our body. So in our daily lives, we should not wait until we feel thirsty to drink water. There is no harm in drinking more water. Now I will explain to you in detail what changes will happen to our body if we are dehydrated, and what harm will it cause to the human body?

What changes will occur in the body when a person is continuously in a state of chronic, mild dehydration? The "thirst management mechanism" also has a main function, which is to strictly distribute the "reserved" water in the body when the human body is short of water. Its operating principle is to ensure that the most important organs first receive sufficient water and nutrients transported by the water.

The most important organ is the brain, which accounts for 1/50 of the human body weight but receives 18%-20% of the total blood circulation, and the proportion of water is the same.

Every organ in the human body contains extremely rich water: the heart contains 80%, muscles contain 76%, liver contains 68%, and even bones contain 22% water. When the brain receives special treatment in terms of water supply, other organs will naturally become insufficiently hydrated.

When an organ is not hydrated, its cells are the first to be affected. The reason is that when the body does not take in enough water, the blood becomes thicker and the osmotic pressure in the blood vessels increases, which will cause cells to become dehydrated. Cells become dehydrated and wrinkled, and their internal functions will inevitably be affected.

When cell functions are affected, we will feel uncomfortable. This "discomfort" can be regarded as a dehydration "alarm signal" issued by the body. Dehydration in any part of the body will be reflected through different signals. The most common ones are fatigue, excitement, irritation, anxiety, depression, depression, lack of sleep, dizziness, etc.

Cholesterol is an indispensable component of animal cell membranes. The body produces large amounts of cholesterol and deposits them in the cell membranes to resist the osmotic force of the blood and prevent water from being absorbed out of the cell membranes. This is a natural defense process of the body that aims to protect living cells from the threat of dehydration.

Therefore, an increase in blood cholesterol levels indicates an increase in blood concentration and the body may be dehydrated.

Asthma may also be an alarm signal for chronic dehydration in the body.

The lungs need water to keep the airflow passages moist and prevent the passages from drying out due to the movement of air in and out. When you are dehydrated, your airways increase their production of mucus to keep them moist. A moderate amount of mucus can protect lung tissue, but as more and more mucus is secreted, it will accumulate and block normal air passages, leading to the occurrence of asthma.

After reading the above introduction, I think those who don’t like drinking water will also put a glass of water on their desk. Don’t think about quenching thirst with imaginary thoughts or filling hunger with pie in the sky. Water is inseparable from our body. Drinking more water can not only prevent diseases such as stones and asthma, but also make our skin hydrated and shiny. However, drinking water should be divided into time periods. Don’t drink a lot of water late at night, as this will cause swelling of the body. Therefore, we must develop a correct way of drinking water so that we can be healthy.
