What is the normal uric acid value

What is the normal uric acid value

Normal urination by humans will produce uric acid, and abnormal uric acid levels will cause many diseases. The abnormal uric acid level is mainly due to the fact that today's society puts too much pressure on people, and people will have all kinds of negative emotions because of various trivial matters in life, which also affects the normal excretion of uric acid. If it accumulates in the body for too long, it will lead to an increase in uric acid levels, thus causing various diseases.

Normal uric acid level

Uric acid is constantly produced and excreted in the body, so it maintains a certain concentration in the blood. When the blood uric acid concentration is too high, uric acid is deposited in the joints, soft tissues, cartilage and kidneys in the form of sodium salt, causing foreign body inflammatory reaction in the tissues, which becomes the root cause of gout. Check the uric acid level in the blood.

You need to fast for more than 8 hours before drawing blood (no food after 12 o'clock in the evening, but you can drink water). Normal values of blood uric acid: 237.9-356.9 μmol/L (4-6 mg/dL) for adult males and 178.4-297.4 μmol/L (3-5 mg/dL) for females.

The normal reference value for women is about 60-70 micromoles/liter lower than that for men. Usually, the uric acid value gradually increases after menopause and approaches the value of adult men. For men over 60 years old, the serum levels are 250-476 micromol/L and 190-434 micromol/L for women. Generally, hyperuricemia is defined as a blood uric acid level exceeding 420 micromol/L.

Controlling elevated uric acid

1. Drink more boiled water or light tea, keep it between 1500 and 3000 ml per day, and drink it in small amounts multiple times to help excrete uric acid. It is best to control the daily urine output to around 2000ml. Westerners often drink apple cider vinegar regularly to lower uric acid. Do not drink strong tea or coffee

2. Eat more vegetarian food, but not all vegetarian food. Eat more purple eggplant, Shanghai greens, and lettuce. Avoid spinach as a green vegetable, and eat less or no beans at all. Eat more fruits. Various fruits are composed of carbohydrates, which have a positive effect on making the body alkaline, especially eating more cherries.

3. Do not drink alcohol. Alcohol can easily cause lactic acid accumulation in the body, which inhibits the excretion of uric acid and can easily induce gout. Strictly abstain from alcohol, and beer and seafood are absolutely prohibited. Beer itself contains alcohol, which will affect the excretion of uric acid; and during the oxidation process of alcohol, some substances will be produced that increase uric acid. Seafood contains purine and protein. Excessive intake of protein will put our body in a slightly acidic environment, which will promote the formation of uric acid crystals. In addition, if a large amount of seafood is consumed in a short period of time, the large amount of purine will cause a sharp increase in uric acid. Although our dietary factors only account for 10% to 20% of uric acid, eating a large amount of seafood in a short period of time will cause a sharp increase in uric acid, and drinking alcohol will affect excretion.

In today's society, our eating habits and lifestyle are often affected by external factors, so our uric acid levels are easily abnormal. Through understanding, we also know the dangers and solutions, so we should develop good living habits for our own health.
