Five lifestyle care methods for stiff neck

What should we do if we have a stiff neck? Many people must have experienced a stiff neck. It is very painful. If you have experienced a stiff neck, you will have inexplicable neck pain when you wake up in the morning. A stiff neck is very painful. So what is the most effective way to treat a stiff neck? We need to understand some life care methods. If we unfortunately get a stiff neck, we can seize the time to treat ourselves and it will not be so painful. Let’s take a look at some daily care methods for stiff neck.

1. Generally, stiff neck can be cured after 1 to 2 treatments.

However, some patients actually develop the disease on the basis of long-term cervical lesions, such as long-term strain of the neck muscles or degenerative lesions of the cervical spine, which can induce the disease under certain conditions, even if the disordered joints are repositioned through treatment. However, inflammatory changes such as congestion, edema, and thickening of the soft tissue of the neck will continue to cause neck discomfort, which may require 2 weeks or even more than 1 month of treatment and rest to heal.

2. The pulling method is an effective method for treating traumatic stiff neck and is only used when the cervical spinous process is deviated.

The force applied during operation should be steady but sudden, and it is best to hear a popping sound, but do not force the sound. Know when to stop and do not use rough force. Before performing the manipulation, a clear diagnosis should be made to rule out diseases such as fractures, dislocations or tumors to avoid causing unnecessary harm.

3. For those with severe headache and inability to turn the neck, you can first massage the shoulder well point on the affected side for 2 to 3 minutes, and ask the patient to slowly turn the neck. When the pain is slightly relieved, you can continue treatment.

4. Keep your neck warm.

Avoid wind and cold to avoid affecting the efficacy.

5. It is not advisable to sleep with a high pillow.

The pillow should be elastic, and the height should be such that the head and body can be level when lying on the side.

Experts recommend: Don’t panic after suffering from a stiff neck. If you feel the symptoms are serious, you should seek medical attention nearby to avoid injury to the cervical joints due to improper treatment. If the symptoms are not very serious, you may wish to self-regulate according to the above methods.
