How to soak your feet healthily

We all know that Tibetan foot soaking is a very simple way to effectively relieve our physical and mental fatigue, but in life, not everyone knows how to soak feet healthily. Soaking feet is not as simple as taking a basin of water and putting your feet in it. Let's take a closer look at how to soak feet healthily, and what principles should be paid attention to during the foot soaking process?

You need to master some principles and techniques when soaking your feet. Only in this way can you play its health-care effect. Otherwise, soaking your feet will not only fail to play any role, but will just waste your time and energy. Therefore, if you want to soak your feet, everyone should pay attention to these principles.

1. The water temperature should be appropriate when soaking your feet

What is the appropriate water temperature for foot soaking? The healthiest water. By referring to various books, it is found that hot water around 40℃ is most suitable for foot soaking. Why is this? On the one hand, if the water temperature is too high, the blood vessels in the feet are prone to excessive dilation, and more blood in the human body flows to the lower limbs, which can easily cause insufficient blood supply to important organs such as the heart, brain, and kidneys. This is especially bad for people with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. On the other hand, if the water temperature is too high, it can easily damage the sebum film on the surface of the foot skin, causing the stratum corneum to dry out or even crack. Diabetic patients should also pay special attention to the water temperature, because such patients are prone to complications of peripheral neuropathy, which makes the peripheral nerves unable to sense the external temperature normally. Even if the water temperature is very high, they cannot feel it and are easily scalded.

2. It is not advisable to soak your feet 30 minutes after a meal

After a meal, most of the blood in the human body flows to the digestive tract. If you soak your feet in hot water immediately after a meal, the blood that should flow to the digestive system will flow to the lower limbs instead. Over time, it will affect digestion and absorption and lead to nutritional deficiencies.

3. Foot soaking time should not be too long

It is best to control the foot soaking time within 30 minutes, and the best range is 20-30 minutes. It is best to drink a cup of boiled water while soaking your feet to facilitate metabolism, replenish body fluids, and promote sweating. After soaking your feet, the body's blood circulation will speed up and the heart rate will be faster than usual. Soaking your feet for too long will easily increase the burden on the heart. Patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and the elderly should pay special attention. If they feel chest tightness or dizziness, they should temporarily stop soaking their feet and lie down in bed to rest immediately.

The above are some principles and techniques that you need to pay attention to when taking a bath. I hope that through these introductions, everyone can master these methods and techniques in daily life, so that you can give full play to the health care effects of foot soaking and better ensure your health.
