Tips for preventing common skin diseases in summer

In summer, due to the continuous high temperature, stuffiness and humidity, annoying skin diseases will appear again, causing unbearable itching, redness, swelling and pain. To sum up, skin diseases that are prevalent in summer can be roughly divided into six categories.

1. Sunburn

People who work indoors for a long time and are suddenly exposed to strong sunlight are prone to sunburn. People with lighter skin are more likely to develop sun spots.

Prevention tips: Regularly participating in outdoor activities and continuously enhancing the skin's photostability is the simplest shortcut. People with light skin or those who have not been tanned may try to gradually go out into the sun and enjoy a sunbath to improve their light resistance. However, to prevent skin cancer caused by overexposure, it is not advisable to go out between 10 am and 2 pm. If you go swimming at the beach or participate in outdoor activities, don't forget to apply sunscreen.

2. Skin ringworm

Tinea versicolor, tinea manuum, tinea pedis, tinea cruris and other tinea caused by fungi are particularly active when encountering humid and hot weather. Ringworm is closely related to the amount of human activity, and young and middle-aged men are the typical group of patients. The incidence of tinea pedis alone can reach 50% to 60% in southern my country.

Prevention tips: Keep skin clean and dry. In summer, light and breathable cotton clothing is the first choice, and socks and other clothes should be changed and washed frequently. After taking a shower, clean the spaces between toes and fingers to avoid any chances for ringworm to invade. If there is someone with ringworm at home, personal items such as slippers should be strictly separated.

3. Prickly heat

Infants, people who are chronically ill and young people are prone to prickly heat.

Prevention tips: Apply some floral water or prickly heat powder after taking a bath, which will be effective. The living or working place should be properly ventilated. If there is a pregnant woman at home, overheating should be avoided. When the baby is sleeping, turn him over more often. However, avoid taking a cold shower directly after sweating profusely, as sudden blockage of sweat pores is most likely to cause illness.

4. Summer dermatitis

The high-risk group is women working in high-temperature environments. The patient's calves will have dense small red spots on their skin, which will itch and cause a burning sensation. The higher the temperature and the greater the humidity, the more likely it is to develop the disease, and it will subside when the climate is cool.

Prevention tips: Even if you are a professional woman, you should try to wear loose clothes in summer. Non-breathable and non-ventilated suits are the most taboo. The affected area can be rinsed with clean water, dried with a dry towel, and then applied with some cooling and antipruritic agents.

5. Mosquito bites

When a mosquito bites your skin, you will feel a noticeable stinging sensation and red bruises ranging in size from the tip of a needle to the head of a needle will appear.

Prevention tips: Killing mosquitoes is the key to reducing mosquito bites. In addition to maintaining good environmental hygiene, lighting mugwort and wormwood indoors can also produce a special fragrance that can repel mosquitoes.

6. Folliculitis, furuncle and other skin infections

Improper prevention and treatment of skin diseases in summer can cause skin infections, such as purulent infections at the openings of hair follicles. People with symptoms of itchy skin or whose body resistance is reduced due to diabetes or tuberculosis are at high risk of skin infections.

Prevention tips: Strengthen physical exercise, enhance body resistance and reduce the chance of infection. Take more vitamin preparations and avoid alcohol and spicy foods.
