Sleeping against the wall hurts your joints. The truth about healthy sleep

Sleeping against the wall hurts your joints. The truth about healthy sleep

1. Sleeping too close to the wall can easily injure your joints. Experts analyze that the temperature of the wall can differ by 3℃-8℃ from the room temperature. If there is no distance of more than 20cm between them, or there is no wooden material to block the air, the coldness of the wall will cause harm to the human body and may induce some cold diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.

2. Sleeping with the lights on will make you fat. According to a study by Ohio University in the United States, even the weakest light at night can cause a person to gain weight. Even eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly cannot prevent this.

3. It is not advisable to wear linen pajamas when sleeping. The results of a survey on pajamas show that after analyzing pajamas of various materials and the sleeping conditions of the respondents, the researchers found that pajamas made of silk and cotton help sleep, while linen pajamas affect sleep. The expert mentioned that "the human autonomic nervous system consists of the sympathetic nerves that keep the body active and the parasympathetic nerves that make the body rest. We asked the respondents to wear silk and linen pajamas to sleep and measured the depth of their sleep. The results showed that the activity level of the parasympathetic nerves when wearing silk was twice that of when wearing linen pajamas." Therefore, before a person falls asleep, his body temperature will drop, so he should wear silk that can easily dissipate heat. The least suitable materials for pajamas are chemical fiber products.

4. Lack of sleep will make you fat. People who sleep less than 4 hours a day are 73% more likely to be obese than those who sleep normally. Studies have shown that people who lack sleep have higher levels of appetite-stimulating factors in their bodies.

5. Oversleeping is harmful to your health. The air in the bedroom is relatively turbid in the early morning. It has been measured that the air contains a large amount of bacteria, mold and fermentation particles, carbon dioxide gas and dust, which can easily damage the respiratory system and induce colds, coughs, pharyngitis, dizziness, etc. Over time, it can also damage memory and hearing.

6. Taking a hot bath 30 minutes before going to bed is not good for sleep. The "before bedtime" and "hot water" in "taking a hot bath before bedtime" are wrong concepts and violate the physiological laws of the human body. When taking a bath with hot water, the body temperature rises rapidly, which inhibits the secretion of melatonin in the brain and slows down the time it takes for the brain to release melatonin. The main function of melatonin is to induce natural sleep and overcome sleep disorders by regulating a person's natural sleep. People want to sleep at night, mainly because it is only secreted at night. The secretion of melatonin is most active from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am, and the secretion amount will slowly decrease after that until it stops at about 8:00 in the morning. If you go to bed right after taking a hot bath, melatonin will not be secreted for a long time, making it difficult to fall asleep.
