The harm and prevention of cockroaches

The harm and prevention of cockroaches

We are all familiar with the creature called cockroach, commonly known as Xiaoqiang, which is a creature that many of us are annoyed by. In our lives, we can often see this creature in our homes. Cockroaches are not only annoying but also very unsafe. They are the source of infection of some viruses.

What are the specific hazards of cockroaches? What are our good prevention and control methods? Let's take a look together

I believe many of my friends have been troubled by cockroaches. They not only crawl on our food, but also gnaw on our books, wallets, leather utensils, etc., which makes us hard to guard against. Many of our friends have tried many methods but failed to eliminate cockroaches in their homes. Let's take a look at the introduction below.

The main harm of cockroaches to humans is:

The harm caused by cockroaches to humans is second only to houseflies, and sometimes they are even more annoying. It not only spreads diseases, but also causes allergic reactions in people, such as allergic asthma, dermatitis, etc.

What diseases can cockroaches spread?

Cockroaches have been shown to carry about 40-50 types of bacteria that are pathogenic to vertebrates, such as Shigella dysenteriae, Escherichia coli, Yersinia pestis, etc., which can cause food poisoning and spread pathogenic bacteria such as hepatitis, polio, pneumonia, and tuberculosis. It is also the intermediate host of many parasites and can carry eggs of various worms such as roundworms, red worms, pinworms, whipworms, etc. It also carries many protozoa, four of which are pathogenic to humans or animals, such as Entamoeba dysenteriae.

How to prevent cockroaches through environmental management

① Regular sanitation cleaning.

②Eliminate and reduce cockroaches’ food sources and habitats.

③ Clear out leftover food in the kitchen and wash or scrub cabinets, utensils, etc. with boiling water.

④ Remove cockroach traces (cockroach feces) and possible habitats.

⑤Seal the holes and fill the gaps.

5. Common methods for killing cockroaches

①Poison bait: cockroach poison bait has the advantages of safety, high efficiency, less environmental pollution and easy use.

When using, follow the "small amounts, large amounts" principle. Place the poison bait in a moisture-proof container, focusing on placing it in the corners of cabinets or drawers in kitchens and restaurants, in the gaps behind furniture, on wires and pipes, or directly in places where cockroaches live.

② Residual spraying: Spray long-acting insecticides on key places where cockroaches often live and move, such as gaps, holes, wall skirtings, corners, and hidden places of fixed equipment. When cockroaches come out to move around, they will come into contact with the medicine and die of poisoning. Avoid indiscriminate large-scale spraying of the floor, walls and ceiling to avoid waste and contamination of medicine.

③Hot smoke method: It is a high-efficiency and good method of applying pesticides. It can quickly reduce the density of cockroaches in a short time. The principle is that the special hot smoke insecticide is heated and vaporized and sprayed out under the action of a hot smoke machine. It condenses into fine mist when it encounters condensation, and then suspends in the air in the form of smoke and evenly diffuses in the room, penetrating into every gap and corner, so that the cockroaches are excited by the medicine and crawl out of the cave, and eventually die. The smoke machine must be used in conjunction with a thermal fogger.

After reading the above detailed introduction to the hazards and prevention of cockroaches, I believe everyone should now have their own answer to this question. If we want to kill cockroaches in our lives, it is best to use pesticides that have passed national safety certification. Do not use pesticides to kill cockroaches at home at will. This will not only not help us but may also threaten our health.
