To put it simply, a mold is a sample frame used to make other things. Many things are successfully made with the help of molds. For example, our common cups, game coins, etc., all require molds to be successfully manufactured. Next, let’s introduce another item made by mold: hot stamping silicone plate.

The hot stamping silicone plate uses the silicone plate as a heat carrier to transfer the exquisite pattern to the product. The colors are red, yellow, green and white.

Requirements for silicone sheets: High temperature resistance of 350-400°C, hardness requirements can be determined according to customer printing pattern requirements. Generally, the hardness ranges from 40A°, 50A°, 60A°, 70A°, and 80A°.

Uses of hot stamping silicone plate

Mainly used in plastic toys, craft gifts, hardware electronics, special printing industries, high temperature resistance, thermal transfer new materials, special high temperature resistant products, hot stamping plates, hot stamping silicone rollers, thermal transfer, etc.

There are two types of hot stamping plates: one is with silicone and aluminum plate glued together; the other is without aluminum plate.

Hot stamping silicone plate production process

1. Make an aluminum mold, iron mold or copper mold that can be put together like a box, and clean the mold first.

2. Apply a layer of release agent on the entire inside of the mold (the release agent can be Vaseline or detergent) and wait for it to dry before proceeding with the following operations.

3. Fill the bottom of the mold with aluminum plate (it is best to punch small holes on the top aluminum plate to enhance the adhesion between the silicone and the aluminum plate), put the aluminum plate in place, clean the aluminum plate, and apply adhesive on it. There can be multiple aluminum plates for filling, and the one that really works is the top one. (The purpose of filling multiple aluminum plates is to adjust the thickness of the pressed silicone plate and put the hot stamping silicone and aluminum plate together) Note: Applying Tianna water on the top aluminum plate will also help increase the adhesion between the silicone and the aluminum plate.

4. Cut the silicone. The silicone plate should be 1 cm smaller than the aluminum plate on all sides, because the silicone will extend to all sides during the pressing process. Then slowly spread the silicone sheet from one end to the aluminum sheet, and then use a wooden stick to roll the silicone sheet from one end to the other. The purpose of doing this is to drive out the air. In this way, there will be no air or bubbles between the pressed silicone and the aluminum plate, and the bonding effect will be better. Take the aluminum box to the die pressing machine for pressing.

5. Under 10 tons of pressure and 150-250 degrees of temperature, after 1 hour, pull out the mold, cool it down, and take out the hot stamping plate. (Special note: The pattern on the silicone plate can be carved onto the lid when making the mold. This is only suitable for mass production, otherwise it is easy to cause waste of the mold due to the pattern problem. At the same time, there is no need to carve patterns on the mold, and the pressed aluminum plate can be taken to the engraving machine for engraving patterns).
