People probably don't know much about Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium Dry Suspension, and don't know what kind of medicine it is. In fact, it is a compound preparation of Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that can effectively treat various inflammations. If we have inflammation in normal times, we will take amoxicillin to reduce inflammation. Let us learn about Amoxicillin Clavulanate Potassium Dry Suspension.

Have you ever used amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium dry suspension? Do you know what kind of medicine it is? It can treat sinusitis, bronchitis and many other inflammations very well. Everyone should know the anti-inflammatory effect of amoxicillin.

This product is a compound preparation of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic. Clavulanate potassium itself has only weak antibacterial activity, but it has a strong broad-spectrum b-lactamase inhibitory effect. The combination of the two can protect amoxicillin from b-lactamase hydrolysis. The antibacterial spectrum of this product is the same as that of amoxicillin and has been expanded.

Adverse Reactions

This product is generally well tolerated, and side effects are usually mild and transient. Less than 3% of patients required drug discontinuation. Its adverse reactions are similar to those of amoxicillin. Common gastrointestinal reactions include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort and bloating. However, these effects may be reduced when taken with food. Bacterial resistance, gastritis, vaginitis and pseudomembranous colitis with severe diarrhea may occur during treatment. If this occurs, the doctor must rule out the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis and the drug must be discontinued. Skin reactions (pruritus, maculopapular rash, erythema, and angioedema) occasionally occur. Anaphylactic shock rarely occurs, but severe reactions require immediate discontinuation of the drug and emergency treatment with epinephrine, oxygen, intravenous corticosteroids, and airway management, including intubation if necessary. A small number of patients may have elevated liver enzymes and bilirubin. Jaundice, hepatitis, interstitial nephritis, and hematuria are very rare. Anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, eosinophilia, and prolonged prothrombin time may occur. If an immediate allergic reaction occurs, bone marrow toxicity or acute interstitial nephritis occurs, the drug must be discontinued.

Precautions

This product has the low toxicity characteristics of penicillin antibiotics. During long-term use, it is still recommended to regularly evaluate organ function, including the kidneys, liver, and hematopoietic system. Use with caution in patients with a history of allergies. Especially those who are allergic to cephalosporins and other beta-lactam antibiotics. Patients with renal impairment should use this drug with caution. For patients with severe renal impairment, the dose needs to be adjusted or the dosing interval needs to be extended. Patients with impaired liver function should use this drug with caution and monitor liver function regularly. Pseudomembranous colitis has been reported with almost all antibacterial agents and ranges in severity from mild to severe to life-threatening. Therefore, patients with diarrhea symptoms should be diagnosed with caution. This product is not recommended for patients with mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia because it may cause a rash during treatment. During treatment, patients should drink plenty of fluids to prevent crystalluria.

When using amoxicillin clavulanate potassium dry suspension, you should pay attention to many issues. People with a history of allergies should not take this medicine to avoid allergic reactions and adverse effects on the body.
