Seven bad habits you should avoid after waking up

Seven bad habits you should avoid after waking up

1. Rubbing your eyes early in the morning

After being woken up by the alarm clock in the morning, many people will subconsciously rub their eyes, which is not good for eye health. The skin around the eyes is delicate. Rubbing your eyes with your hands can easily destroy the elasticity of the skin, causing capillaries to rupture and accelerating the aging of the skin around the eyes. It may also allow bacteria on your hands and dirt around the eyes to enter the eyes, causing infection.

Therefore, do not rub your eyes with your hands immediately after getting up in the morning. Instead, wash your hands and apply a clean warm towel to your eyes, or rinse them with clean water.

2. Go to bed barefoot

Many young people get up early and walk barefoot on the floor in a hurry, which is not good for health. The feet are the second heart of the human body, so it is very important to keep them warm.

When you just get out of bed in the morning, your feet have not yet adapted to the outside temperature, and it is easy to catch a cold when you step on the ground, causing abdominal pain and diarrhea. If this continues for a long time, it will affect your gastrointestinal health. Therefore, you should wear a pair of soft flat slippers when you get up early. In winter, it is best to put on socks immediately after getting up.

3. Drink cold boiled water

Drinking a glass of boiled water in the morning is considered by many people as a health secret. In fact, drinking cold water can greatly damage the yang energy in the lower part of the body. Over time, women will suffer from dysmenorrhea, and men will develop stomach problems, joint pain, decreased sexual function, etc. Therefore, it is recommended to drink a glass of warm honey water when you get up in the morning.

4. Drink coffee

Many people drink a cup of coffee to refresh themselves after getting up early. However, experts say that drinking coffee immediately after getting up can easily lead to excess energy and make people become sensitive. In addition, coffee can stimulate the secretion of gastric acid and affect gastrointestinal health. People with gastric ulcers should not drink coffee on an empty stomach.

If you are used to using coffee to stay awake, it is recommended to move the time of drinking coffee to about 1 hour after getting up, or eat some staple food such as bread before drinking coffee in the morning. This will not only ensure your health, but also keep you refreshed all day long.

5. Get up early and wash your hair

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, washing your hair early in the morning is not recommended, especially in winter. Time is tight in the morning, and many people go out before waiting for their hair to dry. They are easily caught in the cold, which can cause headaches in mild cases, and pain in large and small joints, or even muscle paralysis in severe cases.

It is best for young people to wash their hair at night, but not before going to bed, and leave enough time for the hair to dry. If you must wash your hair in the morning, blow-dry it before going out.

6. Get up immediately

After waking up from sleep, the body changes from an inhibited state to an excited state, but the transition from inhibition to excitement also requires a process. If you get up and get dressed immediately after waking up, you are likely to experience dizziness, blurred vision and other discomforts, and accidents are more likely to happen to middle-aged and elderly people. This is why we emphasize stretching after waking up.

7. Can’t get up from bed

There are many people who prefer to stay in bed after waking up, especially on holidays. They always feel that there is nothing to do if they get up early, so they might as well just lie in bed. Most people who have experienced bed-reluctance have had this feeling: the more time they spend sleeping and lying in bed, the more they feel their limbs become heavy and their spirits become sluggish. It would be better if they could get up early every day and be busy with work or study and be full of energy. This is because sleeping in is not conducive to the release of yang energy in the body. Therefore, it is not advisable to stay in bed after waking up in the morning.
