How to treat anal fissure

How to treat anal fissure

Anal fissure is a relatively painful disease for people. Imagine that every time you have a bowel movement, you experience anal pain and blood in your stool. No one would feel good about it. Patients with anal fissures will feel anal pain when defecating, so they don't want to defecate. However, over time, constipation will occur. The more constipated they are, the greater the impact on anal fissures. The main cause of anal fissure is constipation.

For many patients with anal fissure, defecation becomes a painful experience. After each defecation, they find blood in their stool, which is very bad. So we also have corresponding methods to treat the occurrence of anal fissure. For patients with anal fissures, if it is due to poor intestinal digestion, then we should pay attention to this aspect. If the constipation is caused by not liking to eat vegetables, then we should pay more attention to our diet.

1. Keep bowel movements smooth. Take laxatives orally to make stools soft and lubricated, increase the intake of high-fiber foods and change bowel habits, and gradually correct the occurrence of constipation.

2. Local sitz bath. Take a sitz bath with 1:5000 warm potassium permanganate solution before and after defecation to keep the area clean.

3. Anal canal dilation. Suitable for patients with acute or chronic anal fissures without complications of papillary hypertrophy and sentinel piles. The advantages are that it is easy to operate, does not require special equipment, has a rapid effect, and only requires a daily sitz bath after the operation.

5. Local injection of botulinum toxin. Small doses of the toxin have the effect of weakening the tone of the internal sphincter. Jost used this drug to treat 12 cases of chronic anal fissures by injecting 0.1 ml of diluted botulinum toxin (50 U/ml) through the external sphincter next to the anal fissure. In 8 cases, the pain disappeared on the first day after the injection. Pressure measurement on the fifth day showed a decrease in the maximum random compression pressure. In 10 cases, the wounds healed on the third month. Among the 50 cases treated later, 3 patients developed anal incontinence and 5 female patients developed perianal thrombosis, while no male patients had this complication. The efficacy of this method needs further summary.

6. Surgical treatment. The following surgical treatments can be used for chronic anal fissures that do not heal for a long time and are not responsive to non-surgical treatments.

7. Laser therapy. Mainly used for the treatment of chronic anal fissures. The advantages of C02 laser treatment for chronic anal fissure are as follows: ① Laser has the dual effects of cutting and coagulation, so cutting and hemostasis are rapid. ②Good analgesic effect: The coagulation effect of laser on lymphatic vessels and exposed nerve endings reduces postoperative edema and inhibits the release of neurotransmitters, making the wound painless or reducing pain. ③ Strong anti-infection ability: The high temperature of the laser can kill bacteria, and the cutting site forms a carbonization, coagulation, and cell infiltration layer, which can prevent bacterial invasion. Therefore, antibiotics are not needed after surgery. ④The scar is small and heals quickly.

The above are the relevant treatment methods for patients with anal fissure. I hope you will gain something after reading it. Anal fissure still has a significant impact on people's daily life, but we should not feel embarrassed and not seek treatment, as this will only make the disease more serious. So if you find yourself constipated or having anal pain, you must pay attention.
