Normal range of human body temperature

Normal range of human body temperature

The human body temperature also has a normal range. If it exceeds this range, the human body may have some problems. At this time, you should also pay attention to improving yourself. However, it should be noted that when the body has such a situation, you cannot treat it at will. You must go to the hospital for examination first to know the specific situation. What is the normal range of human body temperature?

Many people do not know much about the normal range of human body temperature. Therefore, if they want to know it accurately, they can consult in detail so that they can have a good understanding of such issues and discover problems in time when they arise.

Normal range of human body temperature:

Normal body temperature is not a specific temperature point, but a temperature range. The body temperature deep inside the body is relatively constant and uniform, which is called deep body temperature; while the temperature on the body surface is affected by many factors and has greater changes and differences, which is called surface temperature. The body temperature referred to clinically is the average deep temperature. The body temperature is generally represented by the mouth, rectum and armpit, among which the rectal temperature is closest to the deep body temperature. Normal values: oral sublingual temperature is 37°C (range 36.2-37.2°C), rectal temperature is 37.5°C (higher than oral temperature (0.3-0.5°C), axillary temperature is 36.5°C (range 36.0°C-37.0°C).

Body temperature is not fixed and may fluctuate with factors such as gender, age, day and night, exercise and mood changes, but such changes are often within the normal range.

Gender Factors

Generally, women have slightly higher levels of fat than men. It increases slightly before menstruation and in early pregnancy, and is lower during ovulation. This fluctuation is mainly related to the progesterone secretion cycle. Women have higher body fat than men, which may also be a reason.

Age Factor

The body temperature of a newborn is easily affected by the external temperature. Because the central nervous system of newborns is not yet fully developed and the sweat glands in their skin are not fully developed, their body temperature regulation function is poor and prone to fluctuations. Children have a high metabolic rate and their body temperature may be slightly higher than that of adults. The body temperature of the elderly is relatively low due to their low metabolic rate.

Circadian Factor

Generally, the body temperature is lowest between 2 and 6 in the morning and highest between 4 and 8 in the afternoon, and the range of change is about 0.5-1°C. This regular fluctuation between day and night is caused by the corresponding periodic changes in people's long-term lifestyle, such as activities, metabolism, blood circulation, etc. For those who work at night for a long time, their body temperature will fluctuate periodically, with higher temperature at night and lower temperature during the day.

Emotions and Movement

Sympathetic nerves become excited when you are emotionally excited, and skeletal muscles contract during exercise, both of which can cause body temperature to rise slightly.

In addition, changes in outside temperature and eating can cause body temperature to fluctuate.

Through the above introduction, we have a good understanding of the normal range of human body temperature. When problems occur in the human body, timely improvements are needed, otherwise it will cause serious damage to one's health. In addition, when lowering the human body temperature, the method used should also be optimized appropriately.
