What is the difference between alcoholic liver disease and fatty liver disease?

Many people don’t know much about alcoholic liver disease and fatty liver disease, but in fact there are certain differences. Fatty liver disease is a disease caused by excessive fat accumulation in the body due to various reasons, while alcoholic liver disease is more often a liver disease caused by long-term drinking.

1. Fatty liver is a disease caused by excessive accumulation of fat in the body due to some reason or multiple reasons. Patients with mild symptoms usually will not be affected much, but patients with severe symptoms will have various symptoms, such as loss of appetite, fever, fatigue, pain in the liver area, loss of sensation in the limbs, etc. Severe cases may also cause upper abdominal pain. There are many types of fatty liver, including diabetic fatty liver, malnutrition fatty liver, drug fatty liver and obesity fatty liver, etc.

2. Alcoholic liver disease, as the name suggests, is liver disease caused by long-term drinking. In fact, alcoholic liver disease is broadly speaking also caused by excessive accumulation of fat in the body. When the fat in the body disappears or is eliminated, the symptoms of alcoholic liver disease will obviously disappear. Similar to fatty liver, symptoms include pain in the liver area, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. The most important thing in treating alcoholic liver disease is to sober up in time.

3. There are not many differences between fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease. They do have similarities in many places, but these two diseases are definitely not the same disease. No matter what disease we suffer from, whether it is fatty liver or alcoholic liver, we must take it seriously, go to the hospital for an examination in time to determine the condition, and then receive treatment in time according to the doctor's advice.
