Working principle of electric water heater

Working principle of electric water heater

Speaking of electric water heaters, I believe that almost every household uses this type of appliance. Electric water heaters are more convenient to use, and can quickly heat up the water in a short period of time, and can also play a certain role in heat preservation. This greatly facilitates and reduces the time spent waiting for hot water to heat up when taking a bath in winter. Therefore, many friends want to know what is the working principle of the bottom electric water heater?

In fact, many friends are quite interested in the working principle of electric water heaters. In fact, electric water heaters mainly use thermostats to heat water quickly in a short time. In addition, they also rely on insulation layers to keep the water temperature from dropping in a short time. So what is the working principle of electric water heater?

Many people have a curious mind and are always interested in things that they find novel. With the increasing popularity of electric water heaters in our daily lives, some friends are eager to know the working principles of electric water heaters and try to make them by themselves.

Working Principle of Electric Water Heater

The electric water heater heats and stops heating by turning the thermostat on and off. The general concept of insulation is short-term heating. When heating, the rated power of the water heater is still used. After the circuit is connected, if the water temperature is lower than 50℃ (the critical temperature set by most brands), the thermostat is automatically turned on and the water heater starts heating. When the water temperature reaches the preset temperature of the water heater (75℃~85℃ for most brands), the thermostat is disconnected and the water heater stops heating.

The so-called heat preservation is completely achieved by the insulation layer of the water heater. As the water temperature continues to drop, until it is below 50℃, the water heater starts heating again. This cycle repeats itself to achieve the so-called thermal insulation. When the heat lamp is on, the water heater does not consume electricity, which is close to theoretically zero power and zero electricity consumption. When heating, the water heater uses the rated power. To understand the average power consumption of water heaters when they are keeping warm, just look at the national standards. The approximate value is that even if not a drop of hot water is used, the electricity consumption of the water heater just for "keeping warm" is about 2 degrees per 24 hours.

The correct way to use an electric water heater.

1. When using an electric water heater, turn on the power and the indicator light will light up, indicating that electric heating is in progress. When the water temperature reaches the set value, the indicator light will go out, indicating that the power is cut off. The indicator light turns on and off to indicate that the temperature is being kept warm automatically.

2. The electric water heater (storage type) must be filled with water first, then powered on for heating, and can be used after preheating. If the water pressure drops or the water supply is suddenly cut off, it is best to turn off the power.

3. Electric water heaters are equipped with faucets and reflux installations, usually with "blue" for cold water and "red" for hot water. When in use, turn on the "red" faucet and hot water will flow out. If the water temperature is too high at this time, you can turn on the "blue" faucet at the same time and adjust the water flow to get hot water of appropriate temperature.

4. There are water temperature markings on the temperature regulator of the electric water heater, such as "I", "Ⅱ", "Ⅲ" or English and Arabic numerals to indicate low, medium and high water temperature adjustment positions. When you point the temperature adjustment knob to a certain mark, the water temperature of the water heater will remain at the temperature set by that gear. When using it, let the water splash out first to test the actual water temperature before stopping the shower to avoid excessive water temperature and scalding the skin.

5. When filling the tank with water, the water outlet must be opened, and the air in the tank must be completely discharged before checking whether the water is full.

6. After eliminating the problem, the power supply must be cut off first.

7. When used as a blocking device, the water inlet valve must be in the open state during heating.

8. When you first open the valve, do not direct the water toward the human body.

The above introduces the working principle of electric water heaters. I believe everyone has some understanding of it. In fact, you must master the correct method when using an electric water heater. If there is a sudden water outage, it is best to turn off the power in time. In addition, if the water temperature is too hot when taking a bath, you should adjust the temperature in time to avoid scalding the skin. Everyone should remember this.
