Is it good to hold your stomach in while walking

A person's health is related to his or her living habits. It is beneficial to keep the abdomen tucked in when walking. This posture is conducive to gastrointestinal motility and can also treat and prevent abdominal fat. If you maintain this living habit for a long time, it can make you younger. Walking is a very simple thing for us, but in fact, there is a lot to learn about it.

① Mastering the appropriate walking speed is a reflection of the beauty of rhythm. We know that the repetition or similar appearance of objective things in time and space can achieve rhythm. The repeated movement of a person's feet one after another can give people a sense of rhythmic beauty. When walking, the speed should not be too fast or too slow (except for strolling). If you walk too fast, you will take "small steps". This kind of steps will make the whole body sway, especially for women. If the body swings too much back and forth, or the muscles throughout the body shake too much, the spatial visual image will lose balance; being too slow is not good either, as it will make the muscles of the whole body become loose, thus losing the rhythm and strength of life, giving people a feeling of laziness and lack of spirit, let alone harmonious beauty.

② Pay attention to the stability of your center of gravity and slightly tighten your abdomen when walking. The movements of tightening the abdomen and straightening the chest are naturally connected. Only when the center of gravity of the human body leans slightly forward so that it falls just in front of the spine, can a sense of forward movement be generated psychologically. When walking, you should hold your head up and chest out. Never let your head drop forward or lean back. The upper body should remain relatively stable and not sway from side to side. The amplitude of hand swing should also be appropriate to the speed. If the head tilts forward or backward, the body swings too much from side to side, or the hand swings too much, it may cause "center of gravity shift" and the walking posture becomes shaky and unstable.

③ The posture should be light and the gait should be light. Firstly, it can make people feel agile, and secondly, it can give people a sense of ease. Of course, lightness depends on the coordination of whole body movements. To get a sense of lightness, you need to use your waist strength when walking. At the same time, the use of feet and legs when walking is very important. Never step with your thighs but with your calves.
