Is plum pit qi an early symptom of esophageal cancer?

Plum pit qi is not an early symptom of esophageal cancer.

Plum pit qi is a TCM disease, also known as pharyngeal paresthesia or pharyngeal neurosis. It is mainly manifested by a foreign body sensation in the pharynx, such as plum pit obstruction, inability to cough out or swallow, but does not affect eating. Its pathological process is mainly related to emotional distress, liver qi stagnation, and phlegm and qi stagnation in the throat. Patients often induce or aggravate symptoms due to emotional fluctuations, increased stress, and other factors. The treatment of plum pit qi mainly starts with soothing the liver and relieving depression, regulating qi and resolving phlegm, and better results can be achieved through Chinese medicine conditioning and psychological counseling.

Esophageal cancer is a malignant tumor. Although its early symptoms may include a foreign body sensation in the throat, more common symptoms include progressive dysphagia, pain behind the sternum, slow passage of food, and a feeling of retention. The appearance of these symptoms is related to the proliferation and infiltration of esophageal cancer cells. As the disease progresses, the tumor gradually blocks the esophageal lumen, resulting in obstruction of food passage. The pathological process of esophageal cancer is complex, involving multiple factors such as genetics, environment, and diet. Its treatment usually requires a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.

In daily life, in order to prevent digestive diseases such as esophageal cancer, we should pay attention to maintaining good eating habits, avoid foods that are too hot, too hard, or too salty, and eat more foods rich in vitamins and dietary fiber. At the same time, keeping emotions stable and in a good mood, avoiding long-term mental tension and excessive stress, are also important measures to prevent emotional-related diseases such as plum pit qi. If symptoms such as a foreign body sensation in the throat, which are suspected to be symptoms of esophageal cancer or plum pit qi, you should seek medical attention in time and have a clear diagnosis through professional examinations.
