How much do you know about the maintenance methods of summer mat? Maintenance tips for various mats

Proper maintenance of straw mats : mites can easily live in the gaps of straw mats, causing "matt dermatitis". Therefore, the maintenance of straw mats is very important. It is best to expose the new straw mat to the sun (within half an hour), pat it repeatedly several times, wipe off the dust with warm water, and place it in a cool place to dry; the straw mat that is reused in the second year should be wiped with disinfectant, or washed with soapy water to remove mildew spots, filtered with warm water, and then placed in a cool place to dry; if possible, the straw mat that is used every day is stained with sweat or dust, and should be wiped with warm water before use. Warning: It is recommended that infants, the elderly and people with poor physical fitness sleep on ordinary straw mats. Sleeping on other cool mats can easily cause cold and gastrointestinal diseases.

Ways to maintain bamboo mats : do not expose bamboo mats to the sun to avoid them becoming brittle; when laying bamboo mats, keep the bed board flat to avoid them breaking. It is best to wipe the bamboo mat with warm water before and after going to bed every day. This will make the bamboo mat turn red in advance and make it cooler. Tips: When using the air conditioner overnight, the ideal temperature is 26℃. When sleeping on a cool mat, be sure to cover your abdomen, shoulders and other parts with a thin blanket to avoid getting cold and prevent diarrhea, colds, or even spinal diseases and periarthritis of the shoulder.

There are some good ways to maintain rattan mats : before use, wipe the front and back of the mat clean with a warm and damp towel, and then use it after it is dry. Wipe the mat frequently during use to keep it clean and smooth. When the air humidity is high, the room should be kept ventilated to prevent mildew. Warning: Cool mats made of rope, reeds and grass can easily cause allergies, while cool mats made of bamboo and rattan are less likely to cause allergies.

Linen mats are easy to maintain : Linen mats are easy to use and clean. Both washable and dry cleanable. It is best to soak it in warm water at 30℃~40℃ for 10 minutes before washing. Do not wring it hard when washing by hand. Dry it naturally in the shade after flattening. When it is 80% dry in the shade, iron the back at high temperature to make it flatter and smoother. When machine washing, the anti-wrinkle function should be used and the machine should never be used for dehydration. However, for the sake of your linen mat, it is best to avoid machine washing. Do not use detergent or soap with bleaching properties when washing, otherwise the color will fade.

Cowhide mats need to be maintained in a proper way : during use, clean the mat surface regularly with a slightly damp towel to remove sweat stains. If you find stains, just wipe them gently with a wet towel. Never wash them with water. It is not suitable to expose them to the sun or bake them with open flames. Cowhide will develop pores and wrinkles after being used for a long time. This is a natural process and does not require special maintenance measures.

General maintenance methods for all mats :

1. The size of the mat and the bed must match, otherwise it will break easily;

2. The mat should be kept flat at ordinary times, and clothes or books should not be placed under the mat to avoid folding and wrinkling;

3. It is best to wipe the mat with warm water before and after going to bed every day. This can reduce the salt stains left by sweat and keep the mat clean and cool.

4. After wiping the mat with a damp cloth, it should not be exposed to the sun to avoid becoming brittle. Instead, it should be placed in a shaded or ventilated place to dry;

5. Avoid soaking the mat in water and scrubbing it to prevent mildew or exposure to the sun, which will reduce its service life.

Warm reminder: The weather is quite hot in summer, and many people choose cool mats to keep cool, but they should also pay attention to hygiene and cleaning. And don’t just go to bed at night and not cover yourself with a blanket! At least you need to cover your stomach to avoid catching a cold!
