How to treat cortisol tumor?

Cortisol disease is a very rare disease in life. This disease poses a great threat to people's physical health, especially middle-aged people are prone to cortisol diseases. The main symptom of this disease is cortisol tumor. The growth of this tumor is very hidden and difficult to detect. Let’s take a look at how to treat cortisol tumors. I hope everyone can understand.

1. Anesthesia method

High epidural block anesthesia or general anesthesia is appropriate.

2. Preoperative Preparation

(1) Patients with hypercortisolism should be given hydrocortisone before surgery to maintain their basal requirement, and this intravenous dose should be continued throughout the entire surgery. ② Supply sufficient calories or supplement enough protein intravenously. ③Due to the different degrees of sodium retention in the body, crystalloid fluid supplementation is generally not required before surgery. For patients with overloaded heart, permeable diuretics may be given appropriately. ④ Routinely use broad-spectrum anti-infective drugs. ⑤Supplement with multiple vitamins.

(2) Patients with adrenal pheochromocytoma should take oral cardiovascular drugs to control hypertension and arrhythmias. The drugs used include α-receptor blockers, calcium channel blockers and β1-receptor blockers.

Surgical steps:

The general steps of the operation are: ① Abdominal incision. ② Left adrenal gland and tumor: If it is an adenoma, the adenoma can be separated from the adrenal tissue by blunt or sharp methods; if it is hyperplasia, the adhesion between the adrenal gland and the upper pole of the left kidney should be separated first, and the adenoma or hyperplastic gland can be removed. ③Right adrenal gland and tumor: Cut the ligament between the stomach and liver, cut the retroperitoneum, pull the right kidney downward, and the right adrenal gland and tumor will be displayed. Remove them according to the previous method. ④Minimally invasive surgery: After preparing pneumoperitoneum, the surgical field is cleaned and the separation range extends from below the diaphragm to the upper edge of the iliac fossa; the tumor is removed along the boundary between the tumor and normal adrenal tissue.

The above is an explanation of how to treat cortisol tumors. The most reliable treatment for this disease is still surgery, but everyone needs to have some understanding of this disease.
