What are the signs of brain cancer

What are the signs of brain cancer

Precursors of brain cancer may include symptoms such as headaches, nausea and vomiting, vision problems, limb numbness, or epileptic seizures. These symptoms are often related to the compression or stimulation of the brain tissue by the tumor. If the symptoms do not improve for a long time or gradually worsen, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible and confirm the diagnosis through imaging examinations.

1. Headache

Headache is one of the most common early symptoms of brain cancer, especially in the early morning. This is related to the presence of the tumor causing increased intracranial pressure. Although common headaches are mostly caused by overwork or tension, if the headache recurs, is ineffective with painkillers or is accompanied by other neurological abnormalities, it needs to be taken seriously.

2. Nausea and vomiting

Because increased intracranial pressure may stimulate the vomiting center, brain cancer patients often experience nausea or vomiting, and this vomiting is often not accompanied by gastrointestinal diseases. Especially when the patient also has a severe headache, this may be a key signal.

3. Vision Problems

Brain cancer may compress the optic nerve or cause increased intracranial pressure, which may lead to blurred vision, visual field loss, double vision and other problems. If the patient has long-term eye discomfort or decreased vision but it is difficult to improve through ophthalmic treatment, it is recommended to check whether there are any abnormalities in the brain.

4 Limb weakness or paresthesia

The tumor puts pressure on the area of the brain that controls movement and sensation, which may cause weakness, numbness, or tingling on one side of the body. Sometimes people walk unsteadily or have abnormal posture, which often gradually worsens.

5. Epileptic seizures

Brain cancer patients may experience epileptic seizures without obvious causes in the early stages, which may manifest as convulsions, loss of consciousness, or general rigidity. This symptom requires special attention because epileptic seizures are often a direct signal of intracranial tumors.

If you have the above signs of brain cancer, you should go to the hospital for imaging tests such as CT or MRI to confirm the cause. Early detection and early treatment are the key to dealing with brain cancer.
