How much does it cost to treat early symptoms of nasopharyngeal cancer?

Different nasopharyngeal cancer patients receive different treatments due to their different conditions, so the costs will also be different.

In the early stages, radiotherapy is the main treatment, so the cost of treating early nasopharyngeal carcinoma is low. Radiotherapy may take 2-4 courses to be well controlled. Correct radiotherapy can effectively control the disease, inhibit the spread and metastasis of tumors, and is even better than surgery.

For advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, although radiotherapy is not as effective as in the early stage, it can still effectively improve symptoms such as pain and bleeding, prolong the patient's life span, and improve the quality of life. Radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma can be performed by external radiation or intracavitary radiation, with external radiation being the main method.

What are the treatments for nasopharyngeal cancer?

1. Strong conformal radiotherapy

Since there are a large number of key organs around the target area of NPC patients, the target area is generally large and extremely irregular, and it is difficult for traditional irradiation technology to achieve consistency between the high-dose area and the target area shape. Enhanced conformal radiotherapy has good target area conformity and can protect normal tissues to the greatest extent, and has become the main means of clinical treatment of NPC.

2. Surgical treatment

For nasopharyngeal carcinoma primary lesion resection, the trachea is intubated and general anesthesia is performed. A horseshoe-shaped incision is made 0.5 cm inside the alveolar groove of the palatal tooth root, the hard hip mucosa is cut, and the soft palate is peeled off under the mucosa to remove part of the hard hip plate and vomer.

The nasal mucosa is cut transversely at the junction of the hard and soft palate to expose the nasopharyngeal roof, the anterior part of the two walls, and the tumor. The nasopharyngeal mucosa is cut directly to the bone surface at the posterior edge of the nasal septum and the upper edge of the posterior nasal cavity, and is separated bluntly or sharply, cut along the junction of the nasopharyngeal roof, and the mucosa is cut transversely from the junction of the oropharynx and the posterior wall of the nasopharynx. The entire posterior nasopharyngeal roof mucosa is removed together with the tumor. This is also a method for treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
