Will nasopharyngeal cancer cause bleeding? What are the symptoms?

Sometimes you may have a nosebleed when you are angry. Some people suspect that nosebleed is a precursor to nasopharyngeal cancer. Here is what I will tell you: does nasopharyngeal cancer cause bleeding? What are the symptoms?

Nasal symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma: bloody runny nose is caused by the primary cancer breaking through the surface mucosa. When sucking back, the nasal secretions usually contain blood streaks or blood clots, which is common after getting up in the morning. It is one of the early symptoms.

When cancer ulcers in the late stage, there may be purulent nasal discharge or heavy bleeding that is difficult to stop, which may even be life-threatening. There is no nasal congestion in the early stage. When cancer blocks the posterior nostril, it can cause unilateral or bilateral nasal congestion.

When nasopharyngeal cancer first occurs, the symptoms are often not obvious, but as the disease becomes more serious, the symptoms will gradually become more severe. In addition to bleeding symptoms, what other symptoms are there?

1. Headache: This is a common symptom, accounting for 68.6%. In the early stage, the headache is intermittent and has no fixed location; in the late stage, it is a continuous migraine with a fixed location.

2. Cervical lymph node metastasis: NPC is prone to cervical lymph node metastasis, about 60.3% to 86.1%, half of which are bilateral metastasis. Cervical lymph node metastasis is usually the first symptom of NPC.

3. Facial numbness: refers to numbness of the facial skin. Clinical examination shows decreased or absent pain and tactile sensation. The tumor invades the facial nerve, causing numbness or abnormal sensation in the skin of the front part of the auricle, cheek, lower lip and chin.

4. Nasal congestion: When the tumor blocks the nostrils, the symptoms of nasal congestion may occur. When the tumor is small, the nasal congestion is mild. As the tumor grows, the nasal congestion worsens, mostly unilateral. If the tumor blocks both posterior nostrils, bilateral nasal congestion may also occur.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is one of the most common malignant tumors in my country and ranks first among malignant tumors of the ear, nose and throat. If you have the above symptoms, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.
