Is nasopharyngeal cancer caused by a virus? Is there any way to treat it?

1. Headache is a common symptom of many diseases, most of which lack specificity. The reason why headache caused by nasopharyngeal carcinoma is that the location is uncertain in the early stage and can be relieved, while it continues to worsen and the location is fixed in the late stage is that in the early stage, it may be caused by neurovascular reflex or stimulation of the first branch of the trigeminal nerve. In the late stage, it is often caused by tumors destroying the skull base and spreading inside the skull to affect the cranial nerves.

2. For the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the three conventional means of cancer treatment, and surgery is generally the first choice. However, in the treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the tumor is more sensitive to radiation, so radiotherapy can be the first choice for treatment. The total cost of treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma with different radiotherapy methods is different. For early nasopharyngeal carcinoma, correct radiotherapy can effectively control the disease, inhibit tumor spread and metastasis, and the effect is even better than surgery. For advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, although the effect of radiotherapy is not as good as that of the early stage, it can also effectively improve symptoms such as pain and bleeding, prolong the patient's life and improve the quality of life. Radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma can be done by external irradiation or intracavitary irradiation, generally with external irradiation as the main method.

3. There are many causes of nasopharyngeal carcinoma, one of which is Epstein-Barr virus infection. Through investigation and research, we know that cancer cells contain Epstein-Barr virus molecule DNA, and most nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients have elevated Epstein-Barr virus antibodies in their serum.
