Can nasopharyngeal cancer be passed down to future generations?

Can nasopharyngeal cancer be passed down to future generations?

1. Although cancer is scary, no research has proven definitively that cancer is a genetic disease. However, if someone in a family has cancer, the likelihood of her children having cancer is higher than that of an average person. Therefore, it is not possible to draw a conclusion as to whether nasopharyngeal cancer is hereditary. But don't worry too much, stay relaxed, and face life positively.

2. If it is confirmed to be caused by nasopharyngeal cancer, further examinations can be done, but don't be too nervous or worried. Nasopharyngeal cancer is hereditary to a certain extent. If a parent has nasopharyngeal cancer, it may not be passed on to the child. However, if a parent has nasopharyngeal cancer, the child is more likely to develop nasopharyngeal cancer than others.

Is there a connection between nasopharyngeal cancer and deafness?

They are mainly because there is a nervous system pharyngeal cancer, the early symptoms of this malignant tumor are not very obvious. As the disease progresses, the tumor will cause compression of the Eustachian tube, resulting in tympanic fluid accumulation and secretory otitis media, leading to hearing loss. As the disease progresses, it will form a diffuse metastasis. If it causes intracranial metastasis, it will cause invasion of the auditory nerve and easily cause total deafness. Radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma may cause deafness and tinnitus.

This is because of the blockage caused by the compression of the Eustachian tube. If it is not improved, after the lump disappears, the disease will cause deafness. It is recommended that patients exercise more, supplement more fruits and vegetables, arrange their work and rest time reasonably, and eat regularly. In this way, even with chemotherapy, nasopharyngeal cancer will not have more serious problems. If the disease is not improved, there will not only be deafness, but also more serious conditions.
