Causes of ovarian tumors

Ovarian malignant tumors usually have no obvious symptoms in the early stage, and in the late stage, they are mainly manifested by abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, uneven tumor surface, poor mobility, and cachexia symptoms such as weight loss and anemia in late stage patients, accompanied by abnormal vaginal bleeding. Benign ovarian tumors usually have no symptoms in the early stage and are only discovered accidentally during gynecological examinations. When the tumor grows, it can cause abdominal distension or a mass in the abdomen. When the tumor fills the entire pelvic and abdominal cavity, symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and palpitations may occur.

Ovarian malignant tumors are usually asymptomatic in the early stages, and there is a lack of effective treatment in the late stages. The mortality rate ranks first among gynecological tumors. Women with a family history of genetic diseases are recommended to undergo genetic testing. The cause of ovarian tumors is not yet clear, and it is related to genetic factors. According to the histological type, it can be divided into benign ovarian tumors, borderline tumors, and malignant tumors.

Symptoms of benign ovarian tumors

Benign ovarian tumors have no symptoms in the early stages and are generally not felt. However, if the tumor is large, you may feel a lump when you touch the abdomen. This may cause pain, a feeling of heaviness, or an increase in vaginal discharge. Therefore, benign tumors need to be closely monitored. If they grow significantly larger or have symptoms within a short period of time, surgery should be considered for treatment.

Although it is a benign tumor, if it is large, it still needs to be treated with surgery.
