Will I have a headache after chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Will I have a headache after chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma?

Headaches will occur after chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, because nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a malignant tumor of the nasopharynx. After chemotherapy, normal cell tissues may be damaged, so fatigue, nausea, and vomiting will occur. After the end of chemotherapy, these symptoms will gradually be relieved, and patients can also pay more attention to rest.

Chemotherapy may cause related side effects, the most common of which is nausea and vomiting. Some patients will experience headaches, fever, loss of appetite, and hair loss. The specific side effects vary from person to person.

Is blood test required for nasopharyngeal cancer follow-up?

The result of the follow-up examination of nasopharyngeal carcinoma requires another blood test to rule out the increase of tumor markers and anemia caused by the tumor. After radiotherapy and chemotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, attention should be paid to regular follow-up examinations and routine blood tests. In fact, routine physical and chemical blood tests and other laboratory tests are not particularly targeted for the diagnosis or exclusion of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. If you suspect that you may have nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the easiest way is to perform a nasopharyngeal endoscopy and nasopharyngeal CT. Blood tests cannot diagnose nasopharyngeal carcinoma. It is recommended to do nasopharyngeal CT or MRI, and a nasopharyngeal endoscopy to obtain a biopsy and send it to pathology to confirm the condition.
