Plantar periostitis

Plantar periostitis

Plantar periostitis is a very serious disease. This disease is generally caused by problems with the bone marrow and blood. When it occurs, systemic symptoms are likely to occur, and local pain or edema may be felt. Therefore, it must be treated in time, otherwise it is particularly easy to cause sepsis, and the patient's pulse will also be disturbed to a certain extent. So how should plantar periostitis be treated?

What is plantar periostitis?

First: The systemic symptoms of non-infectious periostitis are mild. Only in acute hematogenous osteomyelitis are systemic symptoms severe. Prodromal symptoms include general fatigue, followed by body aches, loss of appetite, chills, and in severe cases, chills. There is often a hyperthermia of 39°C to 41°C, irritability, a fast and weak pulse, and even delirium, coma and other sepsis symptoms. Symptoms of meningeal irritation may also occur. The patient often has anemia, dehydration, and acidosis.

Second: periostitis causes local pain, local congestion and edema, and movement disorders. In the early stages of hematogenous osteomyelitis, there are severe local pain and throbbing pain, protective muscle spasms, and fear of limb movement. The affected area is swollen and tender. If the lesion is close to a joint, the joint may also swell, but the tenderness will not be significant. When the abscess penetrates the bone and periosteum to the subcutaneous tissue, it will fluctuate. After penetrating the skin, it will form a sinus tract that will not heal for a long time.

Third: It may also be caused by uncomfortable shoes. Many people like to wear shoes that are one size smaller, which can easily cause symptoms of redness on the soles of the feet. Of course, if redness of the soles of your feet occurs frequently, the possibility of fungal infection cannot be ruled out. If you also have pain in the soles of your feet, it is best to go to the hospital for a check-up to be on the safe side. On weekdays, we should combine work and rest, pay attention to diet, and insist on exercising, so that the health of the body will be best guaranteed.

Precautions

When you have plantar periostitis, you can refer to the above reasons. Don’t worry too much about this. With proper care, you can relieve the redness of the soles of your feet as soon as possible.
