How long can one live with laryngeal cancer?

Hoarseness is the earliest sign of laryngeal cancer. Laryngeal cancer is a tumor that grows on the vocal cords. Even if it is small in size, it will cause hoarseness. Any adult with unexplained hoarseness that lasts for more than two weeks should undergo a detailed throat examination and should not be taken lightly. Because the patient does not feel any pain or itching at this time, they often mistakenly think it is caused by a "cold" or "pharyngitis". However, hoarseness caused by colds and inflammation will quickly improve as the inflammation subsides, while hoarseness caused by laryngeal cancer will progressively worsen and gradually develop into a coarser and hoarse voice until complete loss of voice. Foreign body sensation, urgency or swallowing discomfort are early symptoms of supraglottic laryngeal cancer. However, the initial symptoms of this type of cancer are often not obvious and are not discovered until the second or third stage. Tracing the medical history can take up to several months. If middle-aged and elderly people have throat discomfort, they should undergo a comprehensive and detailed examination. They must not treat it hastily as pharyngeal paresthesia or chronic pharyngitis, which will miss the precious treatment opportunity. Tumor stimulation can cause irritating dry coughs, blood in sputum, and patients often feel sticky mucus, so they often "wash their throats". When the tumor grows larger, it will block the airway, making it difficult for tracheal secretions to be discharged, causing respiratory infections, wheezing, and even dyspnea. In the middle and late stages, it manifests as persistent coughs and changes in pronunciation. When laryngeal cancer is combined with ulcers, inflammation, or laryngeal cartilage periostitis, it can cause reflex pain in the nerves, manifested as headaches and ear pain on the same side. These symptoms mainly occur in patients with supraglottic tumors.

The survival time of laryngeal cancer varies greatly depending on the location, size, degree of tumor differentiation, and whether it has metastasized. For example, the survival time of hypopharyngeal laryngeal cancer is generally about 1 year, and rarely exceeds 3 years. However, there are exceptions. After surgery, the patient received cell immunotherapy without chemotherapy and has not recurred to date. Of course, after the tumor recurs, it mainly blocks the airway, which is very uncomfortable. It is recommended to use Chinese medicine for combined treatment, which is fast and effective. It is very effective for laryngeal cancer, and many patients have survived for a long time after using it. The combined use of these drugs can shrink the tumor, control metastasis and spread, relieve pain, stabilize the condition, prolong survival, and improve the quality of life in a short period of time.
