Convulsions after general anesthesia surgery

Convulsions after general anesthesia surgery

General anesthesia can only be used for surgery when the human body suffers from serious illness. After anesthetics are injected into the human body, they will have very serious side effects. Especially after a serious disease occurs, the body has already been harmed by the disease and injecting anesthesia will not do any good to the body. After undergoing general anesthesia, the human body may also experience some side effects. What would you do if you have convulsions after general anesthesia surgery?

It is mainly caused by numbness in the hands after the application of local anesthetics. The application of local anesthetics is mainly to achieve analgesic effect by blocking the conduction of peripheral nerves. According to your situation, the numbness has not disappeared 4 days after the local anesthesia surgery. It is considered that the effect of the drug has not been completely eliminated and the nerve conduction function has not been fully restored. This situation generally does not require special treatment and will generally disappear automatically. Passive activities and rehabilitation exercises can also be performed to help recovery.

What should you pay attention to after general anesthesia surgery?

There are two types of anesthesia for surgery: general anesthesia (general anesthesia) and local anesthesia (local anesthesia). General anesthesia refers to the anesthetic being injected into the blood through intravenous drip. The general anesthetic reaches the brain through the blood circulation, producing anesthesia and muscle relaxation effects, which is conducive to the operation.

After the drug enters the blood, it will be metabolized by the liver, and the metabolites will eventually be excreted from the body through the kidneys. There are only three or four types of general anesthetics in common use. Generally, 90% of them are excreted within 12 hours, and 100% are completely excreted after 24 hours. It only needs to be kept warm, and the injected liquid needs to be heated because the disinfectant used in the operation is cold and the patient wears very little. Some operations require the injection of a large amount of cold liquid into the surgical cavity, which will take away a lot of heat, as well as heat evaporated in the air. The cold liquid injected during the operation will lower the body temperature. During general anesthesia, these reactions of the human body are suppressed because of the effect of the general anesthetic. When the anesthetic effect disappears and the patient wakes up, these reactions resume, and coldness and involuntary shivering (that is, shivering) will occur. The muscles all over the body will twitch, and they cannot be controlled by themselves.

After surgery, supplement vitamin C and increase protein, such as eggs, eels, black fish, turtles, yogurt, and milk. If possible, add albumin, which is also very effective for wounds. The most important thing is to make the patient feel good, pay attention to rest, and prevent colds, so that recovery will be faster.

The diet should be light and easy to digest. Avoid spicy, irritating and greasy food. Supplement nutrition appropriately, get more rest and do not stay up late. Eat easily digestible food. Do not eat spicy food. Do not eat greasy or overly salty food. Supplement vegetables and fruits appropriately.
