Thyroid cancer patients cannot do physical training

Thyroid cancer is a malignant tumor originating from the thyroid follicular epithelium or parafollicular cells, and is related to dietary factors, radiation factors, genetic factors, oncogenes, etc. There are generally no obvious symptoms in the early stages of thyroid cancer. As the tumor grows, symptoms such as neck lumps, neck pain, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty breathing may appear. During the treatment of thyroid cancer patients, strenuous physical training is generally not allowed, otherwise it may cause the body's resistance to decline, affect recovery from the disease, and may also cause recurrence or metastasis of thyroid cancer.

1. Neck mass: Neck mass is a common symptom in patients with thyroid cancer. Most patients seek medical attention mainly for neck mass, which can be felt by themselves or discovered by professional doctors under ultrasound examination. If the tumor is too large, it can compress or invade the trachea and cause breathing difficulties. When the trachea is compressed, hoarseness may occur. The two sides are mostly asymmetrical, and some patients may have difficulty swallowing.

2. Neck pain: When the tumor invades or compresses the recurrent laryngeal nerve, symptoms such as hoarseness and choking may occur;

3. Hoarseness: If the tumor invades the superior laryngeal nerve, hoarseness may occur. If it invades the subglottic or paraglottic lymph nodes, hoarseness may occur.

4. Dysphagia: When the tumor compresses the esophagus, it may cause dysphagia;

5. Difficulty breathing: If the thyroid cancer enlarges and compresses the trachea or invades the esophagus, it may cause narrowing of the airway between the trachea and esophagus, resulting in difficulty breathing.

In addition to the common symptoms mentioned above, systemic symptoms may also occur, such as fever, chills, weight loss, tachycardia, palpitations, arrhythmia, pale complexion, edema, etc. If thyroid cancer patients undergo radioactive iodine treatment, it may cause hypothyroidism and thyrotoxicosis, which manifests as chills, bradycardia, dry skin, constipation, etc.
