What should I do if lung cancer has metastasized to the lymph nodes and brain?

When lung cancer patients have the above symptoms, it usually indicates that the disease is already in the advanced stage. At this time, the cancer cells may have spread to distant places or implanted metastases through blood metastasis, lymph node metastasis, etc., and surgical treatment is generally not possible.

1. Reasons

1. Hematogenous metastasis: When the primary lung cancer tumor is large and numerous, it may cause emboli to form in the pulmonary veins, causing cancer cells to enter the brain blood vessels through blood circulation and grow and multiply locally;

2. Lymph node metastasis: If the lesions of lung cancer patients are small and located in the bronchial mucosal epithelium and other parts, lymph node metastasis is likely to occur, and enlarged lymph nodes can be felt in the neck and mediastinum.

3. Implantation metastasis: If a lung cancer patient has conditions such as pleural effusion, cancer cells may fall off and implant into other organs and tissues, such as the abdominal cavity and pelvic cavity.

II. Treatment

For patients with advanced lung cancer and intracranial metastasis, the prognosis is poor due to the high severity of the disease. It is recommended to adopt a combination of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy and other methods to prolong survival time and improve the quality of life. At the same time, complications need to be actively treated. For example, those with dyspnea can be given oxygen therapy, and those with obvious cough need to use cough suppressants to relieve discomfort. Commonly used drugs include dextromethorphan hydrobromide granules.

Lung cancer patients also need to pay attention to nutritional support and eat appropriate amounts of high-protein foods, such as eggs, milk, etc., which can help strengthen their physical fitness and promote physical recovery.
