Lymph node metastasis of prostate cancer

Lymph node metastasis of prostate cancer

Prostate cancer lymphatic metastasis is only one of the ways the disease spreads. After getting prostate cancer, the cancer can spread directly, causing infiltration of adjacent tissues, and can metastasize to the vas deferens or seminal vesicles. Lymphatic metastasis mainly invades the obturator-internal iliac chain lymph nodes. It should be noted that about 2/3 of prostate cancer patients mainly have lymphatic metastasis when they first metastasize. Various symptoms are more obvious after metastasis.

In the early stage of prostate cancer lymphatic metastasis, it mainly affects the lymphatic tissue around the prostate. There are usually no obvious symptoms in the early stage. In rare cases, prostate cancer can cause widespread metastasis of lymph nodes throughout the body. At this time, the lymph nodes are very swollen, and the blood vessels near the prostate are obviously compressed. This compression will cause the patient's lower limb lymphatic return to be blocked, and finally there will be swelling of the next or scrotum.

Another issue that needs attention is that when prostate cancer lymph node metastasis reaches the late stage, the patient's spine will be affected, which can easily lead to spinal fractures. It can also further invade the patient's spinal cord, eventually compressing the spinal nerves and even causing paralysis of the patient. If emergency treatment is not taken at this time, the consequences will be disastrous. In fact, prostate cancer lymph node metastasis can also specifically move toward the patient's bladder and pelvic lymph nodes.

Once prostate cancer lymph node metastasis involves the bladder or pelvic cavity, it will seriously affect the bilateral ureters, leading to ureteral obstruction. The most typical symptom at this time is oliguria, the patient will have back pain, nausea and vomiting, and will also have a very serious infection and fever all over the body. If the disease develops to the late stage, the patient will be very tired, lose weight significantly, and feel very painful.

There are also some systemic symptoms of prostate cancer lymph node metastasis, such as loss of appetite, poor spirit, poor sleep quality, and increasingly weak body, which can lead to progressive anemia, weight loss, and eventually the gradual failure of various organs in the body and the appearance of malignant lesions. After prostate cancer lymph node metastasis, the patient's endocrine function is seriously abnormal, the resistance drops sharply, and various infectious diseases follow.
