How to take lactase

How to take lactase

For some babies, they will lack lactase after birth, which has a great impact on the children. When the children drink breast milk or are fed with formula, they are prone to lactose intolerance, which will cause diarrhea and often lead to the children's inability to keep up with nutrition. When this happens, the baby needs to be fed lactase in time to avoid this situation. Let's take a look at this aspect.

How to take lactase

Lactase is an enzyme needed for the body's lactose metabolism. If a child lacks this enzyme, he or she will develop lactose intolerance, which manifests as long-term diarrhea. Adding exogenous lactase is a way to treat lactose intolerance

For babies aged 0-6 months, if they are breastfed, give them lactase while they are drinking breast milk. If they are drinking milk powder, add the milk powder directly to the baby's diet. Babies aged 6-12 months should take 1 packet or 1 pack of galactosidase. For babies aged 12 months, take 2 packets each time. Pay attention to the water temperature when taking the medicine. The water should be over 40 degrees. Take the medicine according to the standard at the beginning. If the baby gets better, you can reduce the dosage until the baby is completely healthy.

What to do if your baby has diarrhea after drinking milk

1. If the baby's stool is all watery, it is best not to feed the baby. If it is not all watery, you can switch to anti-diarrhea milk powder, drink more salt water (go to the pharmacy to buy some professional salt), drink porridge, drink rice soup, and breast milk can be consumed, but the mother needs to eat light food.

2. Take montmorillonite powder on an empty stomach, and stop taking it when the stool is formed. Take medicine such as Mommy Love to help absorption after meals. You can stick a Dinggui navel patch on the baby's belly (pay attention to keep the baby's belly warm at night in summer). Babies with diarrhea should supplement zinc in time.

3. Do not let your baby suck his fingers, or play with other toys or teething toys.

4. Do not eat any oil during the period of diarrhea, not even cod liver oil.

5. Baby bottles should be sterilized every day.

6. After the stool is formed, you can stop taking montmorillonite powder (it helps to form the stool) and take the best probiotics (such as synbiotics).

7. After the baby's stool has taken shape, it must be at least 2 weeks before you can slowly let the baby drink milk powder. At the beginning, the milk powder should be diluted a little and then added slowly. The same goes for other foods.
