Prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer

Prostate hyperplasia and prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the prostate. Prostate cancer can threaten the life of male patients. The pain caused by prostate cancer can also make patients suffer. Therefore, prostate cancer is very harmful to male patients. Prostate hyperplasia is also a common male disease. Many clinical symptoms of prostate cancer are similar to prostate hyperplasia, so prostate cancer is sometimes easily misdiagnosed as prostate hyperplasia. So how to distinguish between prostate cancer and prostate hyperplasia?

The causes of prostate cancer and prostatitis are different. The occurrence of prostate cancer is mainly related to genetic factors. In addition, sexual activity and eating habits can also cause prostate cancer. Data studies have shown that those who have more sexual activity and a high-fat diet have a much higher chance of developing the disease than ordinary people. Common risk factors for prostate hyperplasia include smoking, obesity and alcoholism, family history, race and geographical environment.

In terms of clinical symptoms, there are also subtle differences between prostate cancer and prostate hyperplasia. The main symptom of prostate cancer is difficulty urinating. In addition, patients may also experience symptoms of frequent urination, urgency, increased nocturia, and even urinary incontinence. Prostate cancer can invade the bladder, seminal vesicle, and vascular nerve bundles, causing hematuria, hematospermia, and impotence. Prostate cancer is prone to bone metastasis, causing bone pain or pathological fractures, paraplegia, etc. The main symptoms of prostate hyperplasia are frequent urination, increased nocturia, urgency, urinary incontinence, difficulty urinating, incomplete urination, increased residual urine, hematuria, urinary tract infection, bladder stones, renal damage, and long-term lower urinary tract obstruction.

In summary, there is still a big difference between prostate cancer and prostate hyperplasia. Prostate cancer can kill people, but prostate hyperplasia will not. If you want to correctly distinguish between prostate cancer and prostate hyperplasia, you need to use advanced medical methods to confirm the diagnosis. Many male patients are conservative and dare not face prostate diseases. This often delays the best treatment time. Prostate cancer needs to be detected and treated early, so that the patient's survival time can be extended as much as possible.
