Among liver cancer patients, it is common for liver cancer to spread to other parts of the body, or for tumors in other parts of the body to spread to the liver - that is, secondary liver cancer. So, what are the special requirements for the treatment of liver cancer metastasis and secondary liver cancer? 1: Liver cancer metastasizes to other parts of the body. 1. Lymph node enlargement in liver cancer: This is the most common spread of liver cancer in late-stage liver cancer. It usually appears on the lymph nodes in the abdominal cavity. "Lymph node enlargement" is noted on the B-ultrasound or CT report. Lymph nodes, like blood vessels, are connected to the whole body. Once lymph nodes spread, the tumor will soon spread widely throughout the body, causing the disease to deteriorate rapidly. Therefore, lymph node spread in liver cancer should be given enough attention. The lymph node spread of liver cancer is treated as "lymphoma". According to the current treatment technology, the chemotherapy effects of Chinese and Western medicine for lymphoma are not ideal. Only the "radiotherapy" of Western medicine has a better effect. Therefore, once the lymph nodes of liver cancer patients are enlarged, it is necessary to look at the tumor situation in the liver. If the liver tumor is still not too serious, or the liver tumor has been basically controlled, measures should be taken to treat the lymph nodes, that is, radiotherapy should be performed. The better radiotherapy methods at present are "photon knife" or "gamma knife", but the cost is slightly higher. The cost of old radiotherapy is lower. Patients can choose according to their own situation. However, if the liver tumor itself is already very serious, or the liver tumor can no longer be controlled, then using radiotherapy alone to treat the swollen lymph nodes is of little significance. You can only add some Chinese medicine for treating lymphoma to the Chinese medicine prescription. It is recommended not to use chemotherapy alone for lymphoma, because chemotherapy is not very effective for lymphoma, but the side effects remain unchanged, which will aggravate the condition of liver cancer. 2. Lung metastasis of liver cancer: Liver cancer patients may have continuous unexplained coughs, or even blood in their sputum, which may be lung metastasis. This is almost the second most common cause of liver cancer spread. Chemotherapy is also ineffective for lung cancer, so radiotherapy is still the best method. Treatment should also focus on the condition of liver cancer. If the liver cancer is not too serious or has been "effectively controlled", radiotherapy specifically for lung cancer may be considered. Otherwise, the only option is to appropriately add lung cancer drugs to the traditional Chinese medicine prescription while treating liver cancer. 3. Bone metastasis of liver cancer: One of the characteristics of bone cancer is pain. If liver cancer causes fixed and persistent pain in a certain part of the bone, it may be bone metastasis. Bone cancer can also only be cured by radiotherapy. If possible, please ask Western medicine for radiotherapy and then continue to treat liver cancer. Otherwise, no anti-cancer drug can relieve the pain. 4. Brain metastasis of liver cancer: This is rare in liver cancer. The manifestations after brain metastasis are mainly mental problems, such as sudden disappearance of pain, dull expression, slurred speech, inability to express accurately, etc. There is no better treatment for brain metastasis of liver cancer. Please forgive the medical helplessness. 2: Treatment of secondary liver cancer. Generally speaking, secondary liver cancer is slightly less malignant than primary liver cancer. In the examination of liver cancer patients, if there are many small tumors in the liver with clear boundaries and negative AFp, it may be secondary liver cancer. Clinically, some patients have tumors in other parts of the body, which can be diagnosed as "secondary liver cancer" immediately, while a large number of patients cannot find the "primary lesion", that is, they do not know where the tumor has metastasized from. Secondary liver cancer is generally treated as liver cancer, and because the characteristics of secondary liver cancer are many tumors, it is generally not suitable for surgical treatment, and the effect of interventional chemotherapy is also poor. Of course, if the number of tumors is still not too many, and only one liver lobe is found to have a tumor, interventional chemotherapy can still be done once, but if the entire liver is covered with small tumors, interventional chemotherapy will "do more harm than good". Systemic chemotherapy (i.e. intravenous chemotherapy) has almost no therapeutic effect on secondary liver cancer, but the side effects are not reduced. Relevant experts clearly oppose systemic chemotherapy for secondary liver cancer because it has only harms and no benefits. |
