How is radiofrequency ablation for liver cancer? A brief analysis of the effect of radiofrequency ablation for liver cancer

Liver cancer has a high incidence rate and is very harmful in my country. Although surgical treatment (including liver transplantation and liver resection) can often achieve good results, only about 20% of patients are able or willing to undergo surgical treatment due to the severity of liver cirrhosis, central location of the tumor, multiple comorbidities, and the high cost of surgical treatment. Further improving the efficacy of non-surgical treatment methods, allowing more patients to obtain satisfactory treatment results through minimally invasive treatment methods, and being able to maintain liver function reserves and quality of life to the greatest extent, while reducing medical costs, is undoubtedly one of the most important development directions for liver cancer clinical treatment in the future.

Radiofrequency thermal ablation (RF) is a minimally invasive in situ tumor treatment technology, which uses ultrasound or CT imaging technology to directly insert an electrode needle into the tumor, and uses radiofrequency energy to generate high temperature and dryness in the local tissue of the lesion, and finally coagulate and inactivate the soft tissue and tumor. RF is most suitable for liver tumors that are not suitable or cannot be surgically removed, including primary hepatocellular carcinoma or metastatic liver cancer. It is safe and simple to operate, has high patient compliance, small trauma, fast recovery, definite efficacy, and low recurrence rate. It is a new technology with application value for the treatment of liver cancer.
