Three common signs of cervicitis How to care for patients with cervicitis that has become cancerous

Cervical cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the female reproductive system, and its incidence rate ranks second among female tumors, second only to breast cancer. With the openness of people's minds in modern society, women are beginning to have sex at a younger and younger age, and the corresponding cervical cancer patients are also getting younger and younger. Although cervicitis has no direct relationship with cervical cancer, early cervical cancer and cervicitis are difficult to distinguish in appearance. Women with cervicitis should still undergo relevant examinations to prevent cancer or detect cancer as soon as possible.

Three major signals indicate that cervicitis may have turned into cancer

1. Sudden irregular vaginal bleeding

If a postmenopausal woman suddenly has a menstrual period, or a patient with cervicitis who has been receiving treatment suddenly has vaginal bleeding, you should be alert. Especially if the amount of bleeding is small and not accompanied by abdominal pain, back pain and other symptoms, it may be an early symptom of cervical cancer.

2. Unexplained increase in vaginal discharge

It is understood that clinically, about 75% to 85% of cervical cancer patients have varying degrees of increased vaginal discharge. Most of them show an increase in leucorrhea, which is later accompanied by changes in odor and color. The increase in leucorrhea is caused by cancer stimulation. At first, the color and odor are normal. Later, due to necrosis and infection of cancer tissue, purulent, rice soup or bloody leucorrhea will flow out of the vagina. If patients with cervicitis have been insisting on treatment, and leucorrhea suddenly increases for no reason, they should pay attention to it.

3. Bleeding after sexual intercourse

This is the most prominent symptom of cervical cancer. About 70% to 80% of patients with cervical cancer have vaginal bleeding. It is mainly manifested as vaginal discharge mixed with blood after sexual intercourse or gynecological examination, or difficulty in defecation. If elderly women encounter bleeding after sexual intercourse, do not always think that it is caused by improper sexual intercourse and ignore the possibility of cervical cancer. If patients with cervicitis bleed every time after sexual intercourse, please go to the gynecology department immediately to find out the cause.

How can patients with cervicitis prevent cervical cancer?

1. The acute stage of cervicitis should be treated thoroughly without leaving any root of the disease. Acute cervicitis that is not diagnosed and treated in time or the pathogen persists can lead to chronic cervicitis. However, patients with acute and chronic cervicitis and uterine erosion must be screened to exclude cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer before treatment.

2. Avoid unclean sex life. Cervical cancer is related to sexual behavior, number of births and viral infection. Especially for women with cervicitis, the cervix itself is not healthy. Unclean sex life, frequent abortion history and multiple sexual partners are very dangerous, which increases the chance of HPV infection.

3. Regularly screen the cervix. Human papillomavirus (HpV) is the main pathogenic factor of cervical cancer. According to statistics, about 500,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year worldwide, and more than 99% of cervical cancer is caused by HpV. It is recommended that women who have had sex for more than 3 years or who are over 21 years old have regular HpV genetic material testing and cytology testing (TCT) to ensure cervical health and stay away from cervical cancer.

4. Get the cervical cancer vaccine. The culprit of cervical cancer is the HPV virus, which is mainly transmitted through sex, so the effect of cervical cancer vaccination is best for virgins. A large number of women who have been infected with HPV virus in their current sexual lives will have a greatly reduced preventive effect if they are vaccinated again.
