What are the common causes of papillary thyroid cancer? What are the causes of papillary thyroid cancer?

The incidence of thyroid cancer has been increasing year by year, but in fact, the real increase is mainly in papillary thyroid cancer, especially micro-papillary cancer less than 1 cm. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to papillary thyroid cancer. After all, once this disease occurs, it is very harmful and there are many difficulties in treatment. So what is the cause of papillary thyroid cancer?

Papillary thyroid cancer is the most common and the least malignant. It accounts for about 85% of thyroid cancers and can occur at any age. It is more common in children or young women (before 40 years old). Some patients have undergone neck X-ray treatment in childhood. The tumor grows slowly and can be confined to the thyroid gland for several years. The lesion can spread from the primary site to other parts of the gland and the cervical lymph nodes through the intraglandular lymphatic vessels. It can also be confined for several years, so its nature is easy to be ignored. The incidence of papillary thyroid cancer is increasing year by year.

The occurrence of papillary thyroid carcinoma can be affected by hormones, genetics, environmental factors, such as radiation, goitrogenic substances, iodine deficiency, etc. In addition, Hashimoto's thyroiditis may also lead to the occurrence of papillary thyroid carcinoma.

The first symptom of papillary thyroid cancer is a painless mass in the neck, which moves up and down with swallowing. A few patients experience hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and a sense of oppression. In a few cases, metastatic lymph nodes in the neck are first found before the primary lesion in the thyroid gland. In some cases, diffuse swelling in the neck is diagnosed as hyperthyroidism and is discovered during surgery. In recent years, there are also many cases of thyroid cancer that were accidentally discovered during health examinations.
