How to check for anaplastic thyroid cancer? What are the ultrasound manifestations of anaplastic thyroid cancer?

What are the B-ultrasound manifestations of anaplastic thyroid cancer? Nowadays, many diseases can only be diagnosed through B-ultrasound examinations, but people with anaplastic thyroid cancer are still very worried about what examinations to do. So, let's learn about the B-ultrasound manifestations of anaplastic thyroid cancer!

Papillary thyroid carcinoma often shows low or very low echo in B-ultrasound, with microcalcification or gravel-like calcification in the parenchyma, and no acoustic shadow behind it; the shape of the mass may be abnormally vertical or upright, and the blood supply around the mass is rich. Follicular thyroid carcinoma often appears as a very homogeneous high-echo mass with rich blood supply in B-ultrasound. The size of the mass, whether the boundary is clear, whether the shape is regular, and whether there is an acoustic halo around the mass are not important indicators for judging whether the mass is malignant.

Thyroid scan: Because thyroid cancer tissue generally lacks affinity for radioactive isotopes, thyroid scans can be performed using I or mTC. Most cancers are cold nodules. This is not a special diagnostic method because thyroid cysts, abscesses, and adenomas can also be cold nodules. The diagnosis should be made in combination with other conditions.

Serum: Serum Tg is often elevated. After the removal of differentiated tumors, the Tg level returns to normal. It has nothing to do with the tissue structure of the tumor or the benign or malignant nature of the thyroid tumor. Check the proportion of each substance in the serum, and the doctor will make a professional judgment based on these, so as to take corresponding measures.

Ultrasound examination: It can determine whether the mass is cystic. Other thyroid function tests are normal, but Hashimoto's thyroiditis (also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis) may be complicated by thyroid cancer.

The nodules can be shown to be solid, cystic or mixed lesions. A single solid nodule has a higher possibility of being malignant, and a mixed nodule also has the possibility of being malignant. A simple cystic nodule has a lower chance of being malignant.
