5 major symptoms of early lung cancer 4 major dietary taboos for lung cancer

Lung cancer is now a common disease in people's lives. So what symptoms will appear in the early stages of lung cancer? When these symptoms appear, everyone must be careful. Of course, we must also learn to better control our diet. So what foods should lung cancer patients not eat? Let's take a look at the following.

Early symptoms of lung cancer

1. Cough.

Lung cancer may cause cough in the early stage, but people usually do not take it seriously and treat it as a cough. Lung cancer cough is usually an occasional dry cough with little or no sputum, and may contain a small amount of white foamy sputum, which often occurs after fatigue. The coughing time is not fixed and has nothing to do with body position.

2. Hemoptysis or sputum.

Coughing up blood may also occur in the early stages of lung cancer. This is a reminder from the body, so you must go to the hospital for a check-up in time. Coughing up blood is caused by the rupture of capillaries caused by necrosis and ulceration of cancerous tissue. The amount and duration of hemoptysis are related to the degree of vascular damage in the cancerous tissue. It is usually persistent, with blood streaks or small blood clots in the sputum, and the blood is bright red or dark red. It is difficult to control with general treatment. Hemoptysis or blood in sputum is generally rare. In a few cases, cancer erodes large blood vessels, which can cause massive hemoptysis.

3. Chest pain.

Early lung cancer can also cause chest pain. Don't take it lightly. You must learn to pay attention to it. Chest pain mostly occurs in the middle and late stages of lung cancer. However, if the tumor is located near the pleura, chest pain may occur earlier, manifesting as irregular dull pain or dull pain. If the tumor directly invades the pleura, there will be sharp chest pain, and coughing or breathing will become heavier.

4. Fever.

Lung cancer has less fever in the early stage, but when the cancerous tissue is necrotic, it can cause low or moderate fever, and antibiotic treatment is ineffective. When the lesion is close to the central lung cancer of the hilum and grows in the bronchus and develops into luminal obstruction or semi-obstruction, it can cause obstructive pneumonia and cause systemic fever. At this time, the body temperature is generally around 38 degrees. The fever can be reduced after antibiotic treatment, but if the lesion is over, pneumonia can recur.

5. Nosebleed.

It is one of the early symptoms of lung cancer, usually with a small amount of nasal discharge or congestion in one nostril. Most patients pull back from the nasal cavity, suck out the bloody nasal discharge, and spit it out from the oropharynx. This pharyngeal nosebleed leads to missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis. Advanced cancer erosion of blood vessels can cause heavy bleeding.

Dietary taboos for lung cancer

1. Avoid smoking.

Tobacco contains more than ten kinds of chemical carcinogens, such as benzopyrene, arsenic, nitrosamines, catechol, etc. When smoke is inhaled from the mouth, it has a direct damaging effect on the lungs.

2. Avoid eating hair-raising foods

For example, pig head, dog meat, rooster, old goose, sow meat, shepherd's purse, etc. This kind of hair is easy to generate heat and fire, burn blood vessels, cause hemoptysis, cough and other symptoms. Choose foods that can improve the body's immunity and help drugs inhibit cancer cells, such as sweet almonds, millet, water chestnut, lychee, oyster, sea turtle, swimming crab, clam, oyster, sea cucumber, etc.

3. Avoid spicy food and condiments.

Such as peppers, ginger, onions, garlic, pepper, etc. These foods can irritate the respiratory tract, cause symptoms such as coughing, and are not conducive to the disease.

4. Avoid oil.

Smoked, baked, and pickled foods. These foods are nutritious, difficult to digest, and contain carcinogens such as benzopyrene.

Is lung cancer contagious?

Everyone thinks that lung disease is contagious, and this lung disease is tuberculosis. When the sputum of a tuberculosis patient is positive for bacteria, it is called open tuberculosis, which is contagious. Therefore, patients with cough, sputum, and blood in sputum should pay attention to preventing the disease. Tuberculosis is a disease transmitted through the respiratory tract. Unlike tuberculosis, lung cancer is a malignant tumor that loses normal cell morphology and dynamics due to the abnormal proliferation of local cells under the action of various carcinogenic factors.

Cancer is not contagious under normal circumstances. There must be three conditions for it to be contagious: the source of infection, the route of transmission, and the susceptible population. These three conditions are indispensable, so is lung cancer generally contagious? Of course not. Most people think that tuberculosis is lung cancer, but in fact they are different. Although they are both lung problems, lung cancer is not contagious.
