Can bile duct cancer heal itself? No

Cholangiocarcinoma is a malignant tumor of the bile duct system that cannot heal itself. Surgical resection is the only treatment for cholangiocarcinoma.

1. Treatment strategy <br/>Systemic treatment is effective for patients with early-stage bile duct cancer. The commonly used treatment method is surgical resection. In the later stage, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are given according to the patient's condition after treatment to improve the treatment effect. If the patient cannot be removed in the late stage, biliary drainage is required to improve liver function and prevent infection and complications. If the surgical resection is not effective, liver transplantation can be considered.
2. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy <br/>Choledochocarcinoma is not sensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can only relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, and prolong life. The prognosis is not ideal, and regular follow-up is required after treatment.
